It seems like recency biased really does flaw lists.

For me it’s Giannis Antetokounmpo, I know he got negative feedback from Gilbert Arenas but way too many people are ranking him high due to his recent title and his awards during the COVID-19 era. People were ranking him over KG at times which I think is absurd..

Giannis, Luka, Wade, Durant

Nothing egregious

I'd go Kawhi for career, Davis for kind of similar reasons - is great when healthy, isn't all that healthy, closer to McGrady than actual generational icons. Maybe Luka for peak, but maybe still Anthony Davis.

Can we use the word "peak" with a dude who has only played one season off of his rookie contract?

I certainly don't expect it to remain his peak, but in short, yes.

Shoutout Brandon Roy and Bill Walton.

Right, he's SIGNED the extension, but he just finished the final year. I thought he'd done year 5 already for some reason.

yeah easy mistake since he came in so ready. Was the best rookie by a mile and by year 2 he was an all-NBA level player. Easy to think he's been around longer.

I'm just so scared he's going to leave I'm keeping close count on how long he remains a little Mav.

Most people were based on projection. As of now, Giannis is on a higher trajectory for sure with 1 more MVP, 1 more Finals MVP, same 4x 1st team all-nba, same 1x dpoy. all other notable differences are less valued longevity concerns.

I mean, to go from Dirk to having him that fast is pretty wild, I'll agree. I hope he stays, though.

EDIT: I still can't believe Dirk KAJ'd his way out of the league while Luka was a rookie. Storybook.

Kawhi in 2019 is the perfect example and his peak is still a bit overrated in my opinion, probably because he hasn't played much recently.

Well, some people don't evaluate players careers by accolades.

I think I might agree with you on his peak being overrated due to him missing time in the regular season and barely being top 10 there despite having a strong post-season run.

In terms of career I feel like he might be a bit underrated lately due to his injuries but everytime he's in the play-offs he goes off. While the boxscore isn't everything, a 2-way player being 4th all-time in play-off WS/48 and 5th all-time in play-off BPM shouldn't be easily disregarded either.

In any case I'm looking forward to seeing him play again this year and for me to shamelessly hype up his legacy again.

I also hope he will come back strong. Despite what I said, I always liked his game and even when he left the Spurs with a questionable ending, I didn't stop liking him as a player. The more great players are healthy, the better it is for the league.

His peak is kind of random just cuz it’s based on him going super wait an for a few rounds
