If Cowens starts over Parish, less games

They win 60-64 instead of 62? I mean, certainly nothing but a marginal difference either way.
This place is a cesspool of mindless ineptitude, mental decrepitude, and intellectual lassitude. I refuse to be sucked any deeper into this whirlpool of groupthink sewage. My opinions have been expressed. I'm going to go take a shower.

Cowens as a backup center could help, Maravich - not so much...

Most teams, adding even an aging Dave Cowens would be a help. With the Celtics, it takes those minutes mainly from Kevin McHale so less helpful than most though depth is always good unless Cowens can't accept the backup role (he was a bit of a malcontent in his end of career Milwaukee stint). I'm not sure an aging Maravich adds anything if the Celtic guards stay healthy. He may not even be the 4th guard if ML Carr is healthy and I'm not sure he's the guy you want for the non-playing mentor role.

I think Cowens would take most from Robey's minutes, which should be a big upgrade. Robey still played 20 mpg in RS and almost 15 mpg in PS, that's quite a lot. Parish often struggled with foul trouble, it could be helpful to have old Cowens instead of Robey.

Fair enough, though Robey was good enough that Houston (I think) traded a reasonably early 1st rounder to Boston for him.

Phoenix traded DJ for him (I think it's what Robey's known for) though they also sent a first (eventually Greg Kite, 21st - it was a re-acquisition of Boston's own pick- aside from main principals it was 1st and 3rd for two 2nds).
Given production though it seems to say more about Phoenix's desperation to move DJ.
Even his arrival seems to be Boston seemingly giving up on a failing Billy Knight and Indy presumably giving up on their recent 3rd overall pick to get Knight back.
