Better Duo: Jayson Tatum/Brown or KD/Kyrie

Post#1 » by mdonnelly1989 » Tue Dec 27, 2022 6:14 pm

I seen this debate start on the Nets thread so I thought well...

KD and Tatum are pretty close in terms of overall impact.

And Brown and Kyrie are pretty close in terms of overall impact.

Hmm. This is quite tough IMO.

This is really tough, but I'm taking Kyrie & KD. Off court issues aside, they have so much experience. KD is an all-time great & Kyrie is an amazing talent. I could see the argument towards Tatum & Brown though. It's close.

KD and Kyrie. Their offense is unmatched.

You saw what happened last playoffs. I don’t see any reason it changes now as they got better. Tatum and Brown

neither is a great passing duo, but tatum/brown are getting better. and they are significantly better defensively. and far younger. i don't trust kyrie at all he's a headcase about to be outcast by society like kanye. and kd is old enough that there is a serious question of gas in the tank for the playoffs...its been an issue in the past already.

Kyrie + KD post around a 115 Ortg when sharing the court this season.

Tatum + Brown post around a 117 Ortg when sharing the court this season.

It appears KD + Kyrie are infact matched.

Those are just numbers. Skill level is a different thing.

Basketball IQ and athleticism matter...also not being insanely injury prone.

You've had a few years now of Kyrie not living up to your expectations!

Kyrie plays great, when he plays. If Giannis didn't do that dirty move, they might have been champions already, but this year could be it. I'm sensing championship vibes with these Nets.
