NBA's All-Time Skinny team

Post#1 » by penbeast0 » Thu Jan 5, 2023 7:16 pm

Given where they actually played (think small guard, big guard btw, not point guard, shooting guard for guys like Magic and Byron Scott), who would be the skinniest guys to ever play a 2000 minute season in the NBA.

Manute Bol almost has to be the center and captain of the team.

Off the top of my head, I'd go with Larry Nance at PF (Bol Bol?), Tayshaun Prince at SF, Reggie Miller (or Reggie Theus, Reggie Lewis, anyone named Reggie) at SG, not sure who would be the point guard. Haven't done any research on this, just thinking of silly teams.

Came in to say Ja Morant. Read the comments and agree that the Slim Reaper should prolly have that power forward spot, although he played shooting guard at his skinniest.

PG: Curry
SG: Reggie Miller
SF: Prince
PF: KD
C: KG

Curry and Reggie are all time great shooters, Prince is the 3 & D guy. KD is KD and KG is an elite defender.

Ak47 nomination from me.

Not sure Steph is skinny enough for such a squad

Most of the obvious names are gone but I'll throw in...

small sample playoff elevator and slam dunk contestant without a team Larry McNeil (listed 6'9, 195, doesn't look too skinny except in his Marquette card)

Reggie Williams (SF) was bit of a bean-pole, too (bbref lists him 6'7" and 190 lbs).

Michael Cooper?
Kevin Martin? (and I think Sacramento teammate Quincy Douby?)
Maybe Josh Childress? (though maybe this is a bit me associating him with Livingston as a tall, big haired guard when they were young, still I think he had quite a narrow frame).

Mikan wasn't the tallest center of his day (Chuck Share among others) but he was listed as the heaviest. More the all beefy team of his day than the all skinny.

I had Larry Nance Sr. because he was known as "the Thin Man" in Phoenix but he looks pretty ripped even then when I go back and look at pictures.

Going for the triple Kevin and threes lineup:

PG: Steve Nash
SG: Reggie Miller
SF: Kevin Durant
PF: Kevin Garnett
C: Kevin McHale

Putting McHale at C because of the post offense despite his playing weight apparently being 210 and lighter than both KD and KG. If Bill Russell qualifies though then he probably gets in over McHale.

Was tempted to go with Kevin Johnson at PG for the quadruple Kevin but 190LBs at 6'1 might not be skinny enough for the position.

This is funny to me because the skinniest dude I ever knew was also called Kevin.

Kevin Durant
Reggie Miller
Magic Johnson.
