No, even with Moses and Calvin added the 1986 Rockets would still not be good enough to beat the Celtics.

Add 1981 Moses and Calvin to the 1986 Rockets, do they beat the 1986 Celtics?

Does adding 1981 Moses Malone and Calvin Murphy to the 1986 Rockets get them past the 1986 Celtics?
I figure Moses would take all of Jim peterson’s minutes and reduce minutes for Hakeem and Sampson.

I am not sure how Calvin Murphy would be used. When Calvin Murphy got hot he could carry an offense.
Robert Reid was probably the 2nd best player on the 1981 Rockets and the 3rd best player on the 1986 Rockets.
Allan Leavel was the other guy that played on both teams. Both teams beat the Lakers and lost to the Celtics in the finals.

But is adding Moses and Calvin Murphy enough to get the 1986 Rockets to beat the 1986 Celtics.

The series goes 7 games instead of 6
"Coach, why don't you just relax? We're not good enough to beat the Lakers. We've had a great year, why don't you just relax and cool down?"

It just seems weird to me that we're adding 81 Moses to a team and then using him as a bench player. If we let him play center for 40mpg(along with Murphy) then I think it's enough to get them the win but Boston still might pull it out since they had great size and are to me a top 5 team of all time.

1981 Moses was quicker than 1983 Moses that people remember petter.
1981 Moses sometimes played Power forward with Billy Paultz playing center.

You could Bring Hakkem or Sampson off the bench. Hopefully there are not ego issues for whoever is coming off the bench.
Hakkem and Sampson also both had power forward speed so i would not be worried about any of them giving up speed to a fast power forward.

How would Moses Hakeem and Sampson all fit together?

There was nothing that Jim Peterson could do that Moses could not do better.
Peterson played 20 minutes per game.

48 minutes at center plus 48 minutes at power forward is 96 minutes divided by 3 is 32 minutes for each.
I want Hakeem more as the defensive ceneter so 36 minutes for Hakeem, 32 minutes for Moses and 28 minutes for Sampson.
Moses plays 12 minutes of center and 20 minutes of power forward next to Hakeem. While Hakeem is faster than Moses I want to keep Hakkem closer to the basket for his shot blocking so Hakeem is going to be the center even though Moses is the better rebounder.
