Post#1 » by OhayoKD » Mon Jan 23, 2023 12:02 pm

Assume 2023 rules and an off-season for all the players featured to adjust

Team 1:
moncrief/butler/reggie/magic/duncan
dwill/manu/middleton/bobby/kemp

Team 2:
Nash/Mullin/Erving/Garnett/Robinson
Penny/Vince/Marques/Rashard/Reed

Not much between them talentwise but I'm not really digging the 4 guard + Duncan line-up of team 1 that much compared to the more traditional team 2.

Tbf in the context of a 4 guard lineup Butler can guard wings exceptionally well and magic is 6ft9 although he’s a bit light right?

Not like they’re running 4 6ft3 and under guys like the Lakers we’re doing this year for a bit lol

The thing for me is that while Magic is lined-up at the 4, he's still going to be the main ballhandler and effectively be the PG. Surely you're not letting Moncrief run the offense with Magic out there. Defensively Magic is fine at the 4 but compared to a KG/Robinson combo it's still not ideal. Moncrief is a combo guard, Butler a wing and Reggie pretty much exclusively a SG.

Not like that's an impossible line-up to play but I do think it's clearly less ideal than the other team who have everyone playing their natural positions.

Was more talking about the defense than anything, I don’t disagree with what you’re saying here tho

Team 1 has more players that I trust in clutch situations... Duncan, Manu, Reggie, and Magic
