Curry/Miller/Bird vs Jordan/Lebron/Rodman
Which trio would you rather build around in todays league?

I think the Jordan/Lebron/Rodman duo has too large of a defensive advantage to not take them.

The team with a seismic defensive gap and very arguably two of the most resilient offensive forces in NBA history.

Re: Curry/Miller/Bird vs Jordan/Lebron/Rodman
if you discount longevity, it's not unreasonable to argue group 3's collective era-relative value is higher at their apex/prime
but...
1. Diminishing returns, lots of overlap between trio 1 here while trio 2 can at least say they offer different sorts of value defensively(no lebron/jordan/rodman is not great offensive fit realistically)
2. I see Bird and miller as players who were able to produce outsized impact on the basis of --when-- they played. In absolute terms, I don't see either within the same ballpark as lebron, jordan, and curry here. If you take a "what happens in each era and then take an average" approach Curry is interesting as he's potentially more and more league breaking the further back you go, but the same can probably be said for Lebron and Lebron has been flatly better in real-life when they played at the same time.

Do we have some misunderstanding or what? I would take Jordan/LeBron over Curry/Miller/Bird/Rodman to start a team. Role players are easy to fill with the best talent.

LeBron is basically Pippen...but a lot better, like, a lot better. So basically Jordan and Pippen++ vs Curry, Miller, and Bird?
I'll take the trio where Rodman is just a throw-in.
