Offense only, how would you rank these players from 1-4?

Is that Paul George or Chris Paul?

1) Kobe
2) Dirk or Chris Paul
4) Wade
5) Paul George

Kobe is an easy 1 for sure. That part is easy. He is right up there with MJ and Steph as individual offensive engines who cannot be stopped.

The hard part for me is choosing between Dirk and CP3. Dirk is easily the better individual scorer, but offenses led by CP3 have done very well. In fact, CP3's Hornets managed to dump Dirk's Mavericks out in the 1st round in 2008, 4-1. So I do not know how to separate the two. Does anyone have thoughts on how to rank these two guys?

I am taking Dirk and CP3 over Wade cause they did it for longer.

Paul George is a clear 5th among these.

Wade's last for me, that I know.

Dirk
Paul
Wade
Kobe

probably? Dirk is an easy 1 for sure. That part is easy. Wade/Kobe is tough, but when I start really comparing the two its hard to find much edge for Kobe other than volume and volume for volume isn't that vital.

What makes Dirk “easily” better on offense than Kobe?

Everyone is entitled to their opinions, even if they are outlandish and outlier opinions. I remember a game when Kobe outscored Dirk and his whole team, a team that had the #1 record in the NBA, yet this person has placed Kobe last for reasons unknown. They might next try to say that Dirk was better on defense too.

Cool.

Let me ask you a question though. How many times did Wade-led offenses finish in the top 5?

This has been discussed many times over. I’m not going in depth with it, but in a nutshell Wade graded very strong in impact metrics measuring offense so it’s not really a good faith argument to just look at team Ortg.

I remember a string of 4 games where Dirk anchored a 116 Ortg in a sweep that would make your grandma proud while Kobe mustered a 100.7 Ortg.

I think this took place during the NBA Playoffs and not a regular season game as well.

It's a good-faith argument when comparing him to Dirk, Kobe, and Chris Paul offensively.

Was the team that Dirk did that against past their primes? How come Dirk never did that between 2000-2010?

Where was Dirk when the #1 seeded Mavericks got dumped out in the 1st round of the playoffs by the #8 seeded Warriors? That Warrior team made my grandma and my grandpa proud.

CP3's Hornets also dumped Dirk's Mavericks out in the 1st round in 2008, 4-1. So how is Dirk an easy winner here?

I guess Dame Lillard>Wade then since he led better offenses?

I haven't looked at the numbers, but I wouldn't be mad at someone for making an argument for Lillard over Wade offensively.

1. Kobe

*gap*

2. Wade
3. Dirk/cp3

Constantly go back and forth between dirk and cp3 (I have them just below wade but would hear our arguments for them being better offensively)

The Blazers had a top 5 offense, 4 of the last 5 seasons. What else do you need to look at? By your original logic, that should be all you need to know.

I already can’t take all the hyperbole being tossed around in here. Kobe much better than everyone else, Dirk much better than everyone else, Wade clearly last. This doesn’t seem like it’s headed for much meaningful discussion unfortunately.
