Donovan Mitchell
Kyrie Irving
Jrue Holiday
Devin Booker
Jaylen Brown
James Harden
Dearon Fox
Tyrese Haliburton
Trae Young
Ja Morant
Jalen Brunson

You can make a case all but a couple of these players were all star caliber this season....What season even comes close? Buddy Hield is leading the league in 3pt makes and hes not even top 20 guard and is an afterthought

The main argument would be against the top end with Curry being hurt most of the year, but yeah the field is ridiculously deep this year

It’s certainly up there even despite the blantant name dropping there. Would be interesting to see how great guards like Jordan, Wade, Kobe etc stand up to that depth of tall, strong, athletic and great shooting guards.

I don’t know about all of them being all star level but that’s a pretty insane top 20

Any year from 62 until up to 68 had 20 to 25% of the teams in the league starting one of the top 20 players in NBA history, that's got to be a contender.

Flip that, though. Raw number of players differs because the league was so much smaller, right? There are multiple ways to consider strength of play at position, IMHO.

That was sort of my point. Top 20 guards in a league with 8 teams has to include at least 4 reserves so I was looking at percentages.

Rules are too favorable for offense nowadays. Its so much easier for little guys to score.
