I voted Lower than Top 20. He would be a low-end all-star, similar to Jaylen Brown [Better O, Worse D]. Top 30 given his skill-set but I don't see him as a good enough passer/playmaker to be a top tier wing even though he is a terrific shooter.

I think he had the passing skills; he was a PG at St. Johns.

Where he would have trouble is in his physical limitations on defense. Even in his day, he had trouble staying with guards and getting bodied by forwards. He was smart and tough, but just limited on that end. Today, with the increased emphasis on switching and hunting weak defenders together with the weaker rules deemphasizing practiced skills (ball handling, shooting when guarded, etc.) and emphasizing natural talent more, this might limit him to a J.J. Reddick type role player career. Of, the greater use of the 3 might open up more scoring possibilities for him as an accurate long distance shooter.

While I agree with the bolded I don't think its really stopped Luka, Jokic, Harden and others from being seen as top 5 players in spite of it. I think Mullin's natural all around game would translate.

Chris Mullin was a combination of great shooting with high craftiness; he was able to get a lot of shots off Despite his athletic limitations which would be valuable in any era. I wouldn't go so far as to call him a shorter Kevin Mchale but in that way they were similar

All of those guys are superior and more well rounded offensive talents though.

I'm not saying he would be top 5. What I'm saying is that if in today's nba plenty of guys have been top 5 despite being thought of as very weak defenders that I don't think it would keep Mullin from still being a very good player today either.

Well he didn’t embarrass himself on the greatest team ever assembled. 4th leading scorer on ‘92 Dream Team and best player on the TMC Warriors.

Mullin would be just fine today and thrive in an era with better ball movement and an emphasis on 3pt shooting. He was a smart player and one of the best pure shooters all-time. Hard for me to rank given some pretty phenomenal talent in the league right now but he would be just fine.
