He put up 32.5/6.3/5.3/2.8/0.5 on 65.1 TS% (53/41/95) with only 6.55 TOV%, 130 ORTG against a great Lakers Defense

What other series by guards since 2013-2014 would you say altogether are better than Jamal's 2023 vs the Lakers

None. Jamal Murray Curry is the guard of all time
LeBron's NBA Cup MVP is more valuable than either of KD's Finals MVPs. This is the word of the Lord

Not even one by Stephen Curry himself? I figured he'd have at least a few worth mentioning

Apologies if this is meant to be read tongue in cheek

Nah for sure only Steph I'd comfortably taking as having a few above this. Hell I thought Steph in the 2017 Finals played his best all around game ever and ended up with damn near a triple double for the series.

But I'm not too well versed in Curry lore to know which one out of his matchups with the Blazers and Nuggets blows this out of the water but I'm fairly certain he's had a better series than this vs each. But it is close man. This was unreal

Frankly, there aren’t too many playoff series by any guard that are clearly better than Murray’s series vs. the Lakers. As great as Jokic is, without Murray having one of the best individual scoring series in playoff history, the series is completely different.

—67% of his baskets were unassisted
—He shot 47% on pull up threes (67% in the 4th quarter)
—He shot 71% on pull midrange jumpers (100% in the 4th quarter)

Funnily enough, Murray's series against the Jazz in 2020 might be one of the strongest contenders (but not better than the Lakers series in my mind). Strong playoff performer.

Dame 34/10 on 66% TS% vs DEN w/ 140 ORTG in 2021 was pretty nuts

Worse defensive matchup though

Hard to say when taking rule changes into account.

Dame Vs Russ,Pg13 Thunder as underdog. They were 4th ranked defense and had Schroder, Jerami and Adams too and Pg was top 3 in Dpoy

33/6/4/2 on .624ts beating them in 5 games w/ an iconic series winner that ended Russ Okc career and Pg experiment for good after 2 1st round exits

Jrue Vs Dame,Cj Blazers as underdog w/o Hca

28/7/4 on .627ts. First sweep in Nba history for a 6-8 seed over 1-3 in the 1st round of a best of 7. Complete lockdown defense on Dame also who had 19/5/5 4tos on .471ts

No mention of Mitchell vs Den in the bubble yet? 36.3 on 70% ts. Also Murray in that series was almost as good.

I'd probably have Curry's head to head evisceration of Dame in '19 as the top guard series of the last decade, but this series from Jamal was nuts (and really his playoff career to date has been great).
I bought a boat.

There certainly aren't many.

If Murray had played similar to the Phoenix series I think the series could have ended up being a coin-flip. So his performance was not only exceptional but also the difference between the two teams.

2019 Dame vs. OKC
2019 Steph vs. POR
2021 Luka vs. LAC
2021 Trae vs. NYK

These are some of the series that could be argued but not sure if any are definitely better.

Jamal was great but the inability for people to differentiate great defense from individual defense is wild lol

Jamal is a mismatch for us, as are wings that can use ball screens well are, because Dennis gives ups too much size, and Vando can’t get through ball screens which is most of his offense. Reaves held up well but they couldn’t have him do that while being our first or second guy on offense either, this was the easiest series for his scoring personally

Now For point guards, yeah I think Curry vs Portland, can’t think of anything else off the top of my head it recent years it was insane

We’re not counting Jimmy as a guard I’m assuming because the bucks series absolutely clears and it’s not even close lol
