Watching a classic game between the Rockets and Bulls in 97 and the bulls announcers said that the rockets jerseys were the ugliest in all of sports but it's hometown announcers so of course they were just being biased.

I had a Hakeem jersey from that time but I can't remember if it was a pinstripe one or not.

So what were some of the best and worse ones you remember?

I liked the Bulls ones. Not much of a fan of 90's jerseys in general though which I think were probably the worst of any decade.

Hated almost all the Cavs jerseys prior to the new color scheme in 04.

The Magic's various pinstripes come to mind so that's probably my answer.

Re: Bulls. So thing is for me: Are the pinstripes adding to the jersey? I'd argue that the Bull jerseys were so good that the pinstripes kinda detracted from them.

By contrast I might argue that the Pacer jerseys were so boring without the pinstripes that they couldn't help but help.

Seems like they always had a pinstripe jersey.

I know you technically said late 90s but the 90s Magic and Hornets pinstripe jerseys are in a class of their own.

That's cool. Bulls didn't use their pinstripe jerseys for that long. I think just the 96 season.

Orlando was the best pinstripes from the 90's, imo. Specifically, the baby blue ones.

The giant block stripes might not be "pin" stripes, but the striped Rockets jerseys were a full-on atrocity, as was the whole aesthetic that came with them: logo, court design, uniforms... all of it was hideous. Side note, those uniforms were introduced the season after Houston won back-to-back championships in red and yellow, which I always thought was a branding nightmare: immediately erasing the history that was so arduously yet elegantly achieved. Apparently, the uniform change had been decided on years in advance and there was no way to change course after the team had such success.

Orlando and Charlotte, definitely. I always hated the Bulls' pinstripes, but it could be in part because I hated the Bulls.

I'm going 90s Magic at the top of my list. The black ones are perfect but the blue was fine too. After that I'm going Charlotte (the spaced out stripes that were subtly different colors) and the mid-to-late-90s Raptors with the same spacing as Charlotte but they zigzagged a bit or were supposed to be lightning bolts.

I think I'm pro pinstripe. I like the blue Rockets ones (with their icey gradient and how they fade out around the logo). The Bulls black ones and Pacers (yellow) aren't high up on my list but I'm still a fan.
