Curious to see what kind of responses people have. So just get a rough idea of what you would consider to be top 25 and work from that. Doesn't need to be perfect. Changed it to top 7 since I expect a lot of top 2's to be Jokic/Giannis.

Bill Walton and Connie Hawkins are the first two that come to mind. Jokic and Giannis if they don't make the top 25 certainly. Mikan if he's not in the top 25 (he certainly was for me last time and probably is again).

Walton, Wade, Kawhi, Harden off the top of my head

Walton, Kawhi, Davis… Giannis and Jokic as well, but I expect them to enter the top 25 over time… and then probably Harden, who is also hovering around top 25 by the time his career ends.

Ewing, Wade, and/or Robinson would the next peak names out (in some order) should active players eventually join my top 25.

Jokic

Are my sure 4.

Then Nash, Harden, Dray would be my next 3, but much less sure. Pettit/Ewing/Barkley/Dwight/KD/Kawhi/Joel other names I considered. A few probably slip into my top 25.

Walton is the obvious one.

Other than him, well.......my criteria hinges heavily on meaningful longevity and total career value [above replacement level], I don't think I quite have Giannis in my top 25 all-time, so he'd have to be another. And pending how this season finishes when I do my final gauging computations, Jokic might not quite be there either (make him a maybe).

Then there's Wade and Kawhi and McGrady. There's Steve Nash and Patrick Ewing, and Anthony Davis, Baylor, and Pettit to consider. Also Connie Hawkins, Willis Reed, McHale, Brand, Mourning, Howard (edit: Gilmore worth a look too)......need to have them in mind.

So I'll say for sure (or at least very very likely):
Walton
Giannis
Wade
Kawhi
McGrady
Jokic/Harden--->I'm not sure if Jokic is yet in my top 25; if I do decide to put him there, it's likely Harden that's getting bumped out; and whichever ISN'T there would be one of the seven peaks (Jokic obviously, Harden very likely)

And I probably round it out with one of:
Nash
Ewing
Howard
AD

Kinda leaning toward AD at this point.

Jokic, Giannis, AD, T-Mac, Walton, Kawhi and one of Ewing or Howard. Interesting how modern of a slant my picks are especially because my first HM is probably Harden.

That's almost impossible. All people that have a top7 all-time peak are good enough for a top25 spot. But for me it's KD, everyone else is in top25.

I think Giannis is going to make my top 25, 10 years is enough even in today's league and his level of play and accomplishments are strong enough. Jokic, I'm less sure of. I don't have meaningful longevity as a strong indicator, more a weak one once you have 8 or so seasons at arguably an All-Pro level.

It's not top 7 all time. It's top 7 peaks out of players who aren't in your top 25 all time.

Bit surprised to see no Barry or Reed mentions(that I noticed). Reed swept mvp, fmvp and was 1st team all def in 70. Also Pettit though many may have him in their top 25.

But "his level of play" has little correlation with the "10 years" you refer to.

Giannis has been in the league 10 years (vs only 8 for Jokic). BUT......

*Giannis was probably sub-replacement level as a rookie, basically league avg or marginally better in his 2nd year, and maybe a borderline All-Star by his 3rd year. Finally hit All-NBA level by his 4th year. And fwiw, he's missed 10-19 rs games in EACH of the last FIVE seasons, while also missing at least one or two playoffs games in multiple years recently.

**Jokic was a "good" NBA player right out of the gate as a rookie, was a legit All-Star level player by his 2nd season, at least borderline All-NBA by his 3rd year (was solid All-NBA level by his 4th). And this is the first year he missed 10+ rs games [missed 13], and he's never missed a playoff game.

In terms of meaningful longevity, they're pretty similar, even though Giannis has been around two extra years.

I mentioned both Reed and Pettit in my original reply, actually. Barry no, but I'm lower on his peak than many people seem to be.

Barry certainly is likely.

Other worthy HMs, in no order: Hill, M. Malone, Westbrook, Doncic, Ewing, Mourning.

To clarify, I have Harden and Pippen in my T-25..

Leonard, T-Mac, Harden, Giannis, Jokic, Yao, Hill

To make it more interesting, I excluded active players like Jokic or Giannis who will likely finish inside top 25:

I don't think you "understood the question perfectly". There ARE seven answers [seven players] to the OP's question (though WHICH seven players are listed will vary from poster to poster).

Your answer would be like if OP asked "Who are the top 7 on your all-time list?" and you replied "only Jordan".
