In a redraft, who would go #1? Who was your top 10?

Mine would be:
1. J.Brown [#3]
2. J.Murray [#7]
3. Siakam [#27]
4. Ingram [#2]
5. D.Murray [#29]
6. Sabonis [#11]
7. Fred Van Vleet [Undrafted]
8. B.Simmons [#1]
9. Brogdan [#36]
10. Poeltl [#9]

When Murray plays like he's played in the 2020 & 2023 playoffs, it's him.

In terms of who has achieved the most in their career to this point, I think Siakam & Brown have strong cases over Murray.

So...Murray or Siakam are the strongest options

I'll go Murray. Playing the best at the highest stage as a Point Guard is incredibly difficult.

He was also excellent his first 3-4 years in the NBA.

I put Ingram over Simmons and because of Simmons downfall I look like a genius!

I'm not really sure who would go #1 in a redraft. I mean as of now we're in the NBA finals so it's kind of an easy time to just say Murray.

A Simmons redemption of some kind is not off the table yet. Probably not "I should have gone #1"type redemption, but he could certainly become a good player again from this nadir.

This is a tough one. Brown has a better pedigree over the years and he’s more durable and it seems like he should be the pick, BUT…….. I just don’t trust him the same way I trust Murray. Like in a really big game, it feels like Murray will come through every time and Brown is a maybe leaning towards a no. I gotta go Murray I think.

I'm sort of shocked to find Ingram rated 2nd and 4th respectively. I'd have him in the 5-8 range somewhere. What has he done to be above with Murray, Sabonis, or even Siakam?

Realistically if you include the age, rep and profile of the prospects at the times something like:

1. Murray - Fantastic all year, burned up the tourney circuit. Biggest question marks was actually how far developed he was, ceiling?, had puppy fat needed to slim down abit.

2- Simmons - Can’t go lower than 2 imho. Obviously now it’s hindsight but in a realistic sense, he was the best playmaker, athlete, elite rebounder, monster defender when he tried. The hype was real. This board had growing concerns but besides that his floor was too high and his potential ceiling back then was straight higher than everybody in the class

3. Ingram - Raw, undeveloped physically (wasn’t ready rookie year) but extremely high potential

4. Brown - Unpolished in a game sense but a fantastic athlete

5. Sabonis - I like Sabonis here. Comes from great stock, good size at PF etc.

6. Siakam - Similar to Brown but further back in development

7. Brogdon

8. Dejounte Murray

9. Buddy Hield

10. Caris Levert

By all means wasn’t great class by how flawed Ben is and how it turned out but his rookie year is actually his most encouraging season by a huge mile. He didn’t attempt the same number of jump shots for the next 2 seasons outside of his first one

Crazy that Murray who hasn't been on an All-NBA team or an All-Star team is probably the best guy here. What an indictment on the awards system (which decided salary).

To be fair that's due to injuries. Otherwise Murray would have been at least an all-star by now, if not an all-nba player. I'm also still leaning J.Brown as the #1.

Not sure I understand the exercise of a redraft. Is the goal to

a) draft the players today as they are now (also factoring in what we expect of them in the future)
b) draft the players today based on what they have achieved so far (not factoring in future expectations), or
c) going back to draft night 2016 with a time machine and re-draft the players as rookies?

How you would draft them in hindsight. Up to you if you want to factor team needs.

Brown
J. Murray
Ingram
Siakam

Van Vleet
Sabonis
D.Murray
Simmons

Brogdon
Poeltl

Ingram has huge ability, probably the most out of this entire group. Brown and Jamal have realized their full potential, both Type B all stars. Siakam is another gem, based on the Kawhi run.

The Van Vleet group is great, but not as good as the Tier 1 group. I would still bet on Sabonis depending on the day.

Brogdon, Poeltl is a big drop from there.

Potential I guess? He did look incredible in that 1st round Suns series.

So I realized that I never actually did a 10-man redraft for this one and the completionist in me wanted to.

1. Philadelphia - Jamal Murray (7), BPA & Embiid certainly would enjoy this partnership better than the one with Simmons.
2. Lakers - Brandon Ingram (2), oddly enough, I think the Lakers make this move again knowing what they know now. They always knew he was a project, and now it's clear that the concept wasn't fundamentally flawed.
3. Boston - Jaylen Brown (3), I'd say the Celtics would look to run this back.
4. Phoenix - Pascal Siakam (27), BPA and I think he'd fit with Booker.
5. Minnesota - Ben Simmons (1), this is the Wiggins & KAT team, and Simmons actually seems like a great fit.
6. New Orleans - Buddy Hield (6), I think they'd do this again around AD & Jrue.
7. Denver - Fred VanVleet (un), I think he'd be great with Jokic.
8. Sacramento - Domantas Sabonis (11), the future starts early with quite the steal.
9. Toronto - Jakob Poeltl (9), I think the Raptors would do it again.
10. Milwaukee - Dejounte Murray (45), BPA gives them a 3-man core similar to what they have now, several years early.
