Offensively more potent duo - Nash,Amare or Jokic,Murray

Post#1 » by GSP » Wed Jun 14, 2023 5:40 am

Which 2man game on offense was more potent, harder to stop or just better? Itd be 05 or 07 for Suns duo and 20 and 23 i suppose for Nuggets but it doesnt even have to be a specific season just in general weve seen their 2man pick and roll game enough prolly hardest play to stop in 00s and 20s

As a more "potent" offensive duo you would have to go with Joker and Murray because they are both great (one elite) playmakers on top of being able to score 25 every night. With Nash and Amare you have one elite playmaker/scorer and then just a scorer in Amare who at his peak was maybe an equal scorer to Joker but because he lacked any playmaking skills (and realistically he wasn't quite the scorer Jokic is because of three point shooting and off the chart efficiency) they just wouldn't come close.

Now if you are asking who is a better pick and roll duo then I think the argument is more interesting and I actually would lean Nash and Amare. I don't think anyone runs PnR better than Nash and by having Amare as his partner it gives him plenty of room for error when throwing the lob (not that he needs it).
