Peak only, how would you rank them from 1-4?

1. 2017 Westbrook (deserved MVP in a tough year)
2. 2011 Dwight (probably should have won MVP in a weak year)
3. 2016 Draymond (top 4 player in a strong year, great playoffs)
4. 1994 Pippen (borderline top 5 player in a weak year, quit on his team in the playoffs.

People voting Westbrook at the bottom are insane. His 2017 season was fantastic. He scored the ball on above average efficiency while leading the league in PPG, AST%, and BPM. He had an on/off of +12.5 in the regular season and +62.8 in the postseason. You think Pippen ever had a year like that?

Westbrook
Dwight
Draymond
Pippen

I think Dwight and Westbrook is probably a tossup though. Unlike many others, I don’t harshly grade Westbrook due to how he was post 2017.

Draymond has the metrics but Pippen finished 3rd in MVP voting? Draymond was top 4??

Draymond was #5 on the POY project in the PC forum here for that season. I personally had him #4 for that year. The regular season might possibly favor Pippen, but Scottie refused to go in the game for the game winning shot of a playoff game and Draymond had 32/15/9 on 11/15 from the field and 6/8 from three in Game 7 of the NBA Finals so that swings things a little bit from the regular season MVP vote.

Fringe-MVP: Pippen, Westbrook
Weak MVP: Green
High All-NBA: Dwight

This thread is about peaks which are 1 season I guess but IMO you have to take into consideration that Draymond never played close to that level offensively in any other season. Pippen on the other hand was just as good if not better in 1992.

I generally consider one season when someone mentions peak, but even if you were to look at a 3 year peak, Draymond was +17.7 in the regular season and +17.1 in the postseason from 2015 to 2017 which is completely unprecedented. Pippen has never had an impact like that.

I am in the minority, but I'd have Westbrook the lowest probably, though all of them peaked in the same tier.

A good case can be made that Dwight peaked higher than Draymond but which personality do you want exerting a dominating influence on your team, one of the strongest competitors and vocal leaders in NBA history or a colossal man-baby?

1. Dray
2. Dwight
3. Pip
4. Westbrook

I just can't put Draymond above Pippen. I know Draymond's metrics are great, but he was part of such incredible teams that he was the 3rd, 4th or 5th options most of the time. Pippen was always #1 or #2 options in his primes. Would Draymond's offensive metrics be anyway close to what they were if he was the #1 or #2 option on a team? I really doubt it.

Pippen's 1994 season could be considered his best and he was the #1 option and he was great, not far from mvp in a year where three top 15 players ever, and at Center, were near their peak.
