Who would you rather build a team around in today's league?

I’m not keen on any as my first option per-se, but Durant out of the three would be my pick. If I could pair with a (say) top 10 offensive player / volume creator such as Morant, Lillard, Shai amongst others - then I would perhaps look into Robinson as the choice here (though this may be out of scope from the question).

David Robinson's an all-time defender, and honestly a lot closer than you'd think to Durant on offense. He's a no brainer IMO.

Durant has more longevity.

Than whom? Certainly not vs Malone and even against Robinson, his advantage is rather slim.

More than D.Rob, who I think was basically done by 02 and fell off sharply after the early Duncan years.

If I don't have to take Robinson's back injury for granted I'll take him. If I had more confidence in KD as a leader I'd probably take him but I just don't. It's really hard to know what to make of KD intangibles wise other than we know he's sort of introverted and doesn't like to be the team leader(in his own words). I'm just not sure how he affects team chemistry overall tbh. Even in BKN, it's hard to sort out what really happened there.

So you compare 1990-01 Robinson vs 2010-23 Durant. Both missed full season in these samples, but Durant missed significantly more games overall.

I don't know, Durant does have a slim longevity advantage, but I fail to see how it's a key factor in this comparison.

Mailman & the Admiral were both trash when it mattered. Goin with KD.

As opposed to Durant who underperformed 90% of the time he didn't play in GSW?

KD is still a top 5 player. D.Rob probably wasn't a top 15 player in 2000 or 2001.

He had the fifth best performance out of all star players facing the same Denver team (behind Edwards, Booker, James, Davis)

KD hasn’t been a top 5 player at least since Golden State and maybe even since OKC. Since returning from the injury where he missed an entire season, he’s averaged 46 games played in the regular season, and when it’s really mattered, he had the worst shooting of anyone on the team playing big minutes in both the Boston and Denver series.

That's your opinion, but I don't see any case for him being top 5 past season.

In two uncompetitive series thr Warriors would have won without these shots anyway?

Maybe we should take a look how he fared when he didn't have a better offensive player next to him.

I mean top 5 if healthy.

Ok, but:

- he's not healthy,
- I don't agree with that.
