Who do the Thunder need to win a ring?

Okay so, it's great we're winning. And it's great we have two maybe future MVP's but like...we've been here before.

I'm guessing most of you dont think were ready to win yet so I'm wondering what or who you smart people think we need to add to have a team thats ready to actually compete?

What players or types of players would you add if you were a gm of the Oklahoma City Thunder?

I think you let them simmer and mature for a year or two before tweaking. So much young talent, it's hard to judge and easy to overreact at this point.

Allow SGA to flop his way to 10-15 FTA/G in the post-season is a good starting point

Be patient, hopefully be healthy, wait for an opportunity to trade those picks Presti acquired for unhappy allstar whose timeline is in line with SGA-Holmgren duo. Pretty simple, I presume.

Thunder are health; one-year of development; one-piece away from being Boston-level contender.

But we've seen in the past (Thunder, Sixers, Celtics, among some) that perfect situation assets-wise doesn't mean you'll be able to take a full benefit out of it, so I wouldn't overreact.

Hard to tell which name can be available in a near future to trade for.

Of guys that might realistically be available I'd think OG Anunoby is probably the best fit as a defensive minded wing who can knock down the three but doesn't require primacy in the offense.

Not sure how motivated the Nets would be to deal him, but Mikal Bridges seems like another wing that could slide into OKC's existing mix pretty seamlessly and do a little bit of everything.

Maybe Markkanen to make a modern twin towers set up with Chet?

I see power forward as their biggest weakness right now.

Lower investment: Pascal Siakam

Medium investment: OG Anunoby

High investment: Anthony Davis???? :o

Prolly start by trading one of the million picks to get a legit 2nd or 3rd star thats a wing. Chet is on that star trajectory but i dont think Jalen will be him and Giddey is meh IMO and i dont know if he fits w/ Sga and Chet..........Dort, Joe and Wiggins are great pieces

They have Pg and center locked up for years.......so get a real top wing

Man, I don't see AD ever going back to a chibi-market.

Let SGA/Chet/Jalen Williams grow as a trio.

Saw a random OKC thunder fan on YouTube say 'they need Bam but would settle for Lauri' lol. They'd definitely be a force to say the absolute least if they acquired versatile big with range. Future is bright for them either way tbh.

They have a versatile big with range who looks like a star.......of what weve seen from Chet so far is who he is as a rookie hes prolly already as good as Bam or Lauri if not better......Why would they need another one? They have a All Nba Mvp candidate Pg and then a unicorn center.......they should swing for a top wing

Chet is not already better than Bam. Maybe Lauri, but certainly not Bam.

They need an unhappy superstar in 1-2 years.

That timeline has some flexibility.

SGA/Chet are your building blocks -- they need all-star nods and playoff experience.

Then you consolidate the considerable amount of assets into something like a 2019 Kawhi Leonard. A closer, a proven winner, a 2-way top 15ish player that in the last two minutes can be as valuable as a top 5.

Hell, you don't know what you don't know.

In 1-2 years time, Luka might be available, Tatum or Brown, Kyrie.

It's only a matter of when.....next year is a real possibility that Chet will pass Bam in terms of affecting the game, especially on the offensive end.

Maybe just a defensive big alongside Chet. Realistically, this season is clear open season. Anyone 1-8 in the west has some sort of chance to make the finals depending on what injuries happen end of season.

You're talking to the wrong guy about Bam.

Need to see what happens with Giddey but I think all they really need is to fill out their roster. GS needed Iggy coming off the bench to really hit another level as a team. I think Okc will just need Chet to become roughly a top 20 player, for the team to get more playoff exp and then for the ownership to spend some money and they could contend/win it all in a couple of years. They will probably contend next year tbh. I think this year is more of a growing one where they might win 53 games but lose in 5 games in the playoffs.

They could easily win this year. They don't even play their best combinations consistently if you look at lineup performances and they still sitting at +8 with being elite on both ends.

I think coaching will dictate things most. They have some earth shattering lineup combos, same as RW/KD's OKC when putting Collison out there with Harden/KD/RW or putting Ibaka at the 5; but will those lineups get played when it matters most?

Who knows.

I want to take this chance to say Bam has never played basketball as well as Chet has this year and Bam has never been elite in any one category or spot on either end of the floor. True jack of all trades big man. Only thing I'll give him is he can play in virtually any scheme to the best of his ability, but his abilities won't allow him to dominate like Chet has so far.

Shai is one of the best in the game, but they really need all their young pieces to work out in Chet, Giddey and Jalen Williams. Once they add a little more experience, we'll see how good they really are.

I like the bridges idea. Im doubt brooklyn is planning on trading him but okc has the assets to make it happen. Then you have a big 3 that can start to gel now. Why wait to open up the championship window
