For a rookie Chet Holmgren's defense has been outstanding, while also scoring well with very good offensive efficiency.

Not hard to imagine a great two-way player on the rise.

Sengun.

Sengun is the youngest player here and has the most responsibility offensively. He has never been on a real NBA team in terms of talent or goals and he has been exceptional in taking the offensive lime light on a team with a defensive identity.

Towns is really impressive, and I said going into the season he will need to buy into a Pau Gasol esque role where he takes on a smaller volume but buy in defensively and as an efficiency monster and he has done exactly that.

Chet looks extremely comfortable for a "rookie" and has synergized exceptionally well next to an Offensive Savant in SGA.

I'll go Chet.

He's at worst a top 10 defender in the sport, while arguably adding strongly positive value on offense in his role.

Chet Holmgren
19.9 pts per 75 (rTS% of 6.9%)

EPM-5.3
Box-Lebron (Dec. 12 update)-3.440
Backpicks BPM-3.7
Time-Decayed RAPM-2.98

Karl Anthony Towns
25.1 pts per 75 (rTS% of 6.4%)

EPM-3.3
Box-Lebron (Dec. 12 update)-2.416
Backpicks BPM-5.1
Time-Decayed RAPM-2.03

Alperen Sengun
22.7 pts per 75 (rTS% of 0.9%)

EPM-3.2
Box-Lebron (Dec. 12 update)-2.538
Backpicks BPM-4.5
Time-Decayed RAPM-0.91

I think Karl Anthony Towns and Sengun doing better in Backpicks BPM, tracks, because as Ben has stated, the metric is probably slanted toward offense. I think Towns and Sengun have good arguments for being better than Chet offensively.
