Remove MJ and it might be an interesting convo.

I think Harden v. Jordan is a very interesting one on one matchup, especially if you don't magically assume Jordan will have 3 point shooting skill he never showed much of when playing. Harden's ability to hit the 3 and draw fouls normally makes him a more efficient scorer than Jordan but Jordan against Harden's lazy D would be a layup drill whereas he might have a high enough motor to be on Harden from the 3 point line without getting burned on drives so I'd still favor MJ.

If, like the actual NBA one on one tourney, no one went full speed and aggression but tried to make sure they didn't get hurt, I might even favor Harden. I mean if you watch the final where Lanier beats 6'3 JoJo White, Lanier still isn't posting him hard or going to the hole, he's pulling up and using his height to shoot 10 footers. So that might be a factor too.

Bryant is the whole one who would have a decent chance against Jordan, by Jordan's own admission because he stole his moves.

Well, if you factor in intangibles and leadership, I think that really hurts both their cases

More interesting question is who is second. I do think it might be Harden, at least depending on the rules lol. Tmac also deserves a mention.

Once again, depends on dribbles allowed. The more dribbles that are given up, I am more confident in Harden's ability to pull weight in these matchups.

He's also stocky enough to the point where if he's trying, he could hold up on defense in a mono:mono scenario.

That said, I think I would go with Jordan over the pack. I simply think he is too functionally athletic / fluid enough for somebody else to get to 21 points before him.

Harden Kobe McGrady is very enough for me.

No love for Gervin? He's by far the tallest guy who was an outstanding tough shot maker and had a lot of length.

Ah, good catch. My mind side-tracked and I didn’t really consider him here due to the association of him being a Small Forward. He would have a punchers’ chance in tier 2 grouping imo
