Murray for me. Never been a huge fan of gunners who aren't elite at their primary job and then also don't play D and are poor at facilitating team offense. Melo was like a less-entertaining 80s Dominique Wilkins. Murray is a high-end #2 who contributed in a big way to a title.

Very interesting question. Murray will surely go down as more beloved given his role on a title team and Melos trade demand. But “better”? I don’t think a few playoff runs outweighs Melos massive edge in regular season success, at least at this moment

Murray has two decent postseasons runs with 26-5-7 on +5 BPM on average, and that's one more than Melo already.

In terms of 'overall impact', yeah, Murray is still behind Melo due to RS output, but as a Nugget including winning bias, and as a player in his peak, yeah, he's better already, even as a 2nd fiddle - his '20 and '23 runs are pretty high among the best 2nd-option offensive efforts in the past 10 years, basically he saved their WCF run against Jazz in the 1st round in 2020 and was pretty sensational last year.

Hurting your team with a full season of playing to leave should count against your career value. It's not just about numbers, Melo was always a selfish and self absorbed guy on the court.
