Hakeem vs. Jokic is basically a push. Pippen is a better player than Tatum and he and Hakeem would be an amazing fit since they’d be such a nasty combination on defense.

Tough call. Team defense vs team offense. Jokic vs Hakeem is basically a wash in my eyes. Tatum is considerably better than Pippen, but defense stacks/scales better than offense, especially when it’s a wing and big that are coming together.

Edit to make my last sentence more clear: If Hakeem is a +6 on defense and Pippen is a +3, then they’ll likely be +9 added together.

Jokic and Tatum both have higher offensive value(say +9 and +6), but they won’t add together perfectly. That said, I do think Jokic plays well enough off ball to combine really well, so maybe it’s less of an issue than I’m imagining.

In today? not even a contest. When you release Tatum from having to be the alpha, his defense, spacing, and scoring would be fully unlocked.

IMO, the weak link here is Pippen's scoring, which is a distant 4th among the participants. Even with Hakeem likely able to exert meaningful defensive impact on Jokic, that would be tough to overcome, all else equal.

I don't get the point of these threads without specifying what exactly you are asking. Is it which duo I'd want for one season in today's league? Each duo in the year they are taken from? Them playing against each other in a 2on2 or 5on5 format? Just say exactly what you mean and it makes it easier for everyone else to respond.

For the current era and the 2010s, Jokić & Tatum. Any other previous era, Hakeem & Pippen.

I think this is close to where I am. Pippen is really the weak link here. Tatum, while maybe not as good as Pippen, is a great defender. By contrast, Pippen is a mediocre scorer.
