Box numbers (inflation adjusted to 2024 for CP3):

2021 Chris Paul:
19.9 pts/75
11.4 ast/75
2.6 tov/75
105 TS+

2024 Steph Curry:
29.3 pts/75
5.7 ast/75
3.2 tov/75
106 TS+

I would say Paul was still a positive on defense this year, evidenced by the Suns being able to field good defenses with Booker as his back court mate, while Curry is probably a solid negative at this stage in his career.

No playoff sample for Curry but after playing injured against the Lakers in the first round Paul ended up averaging 24 ppg/9 apg on 62% TS for the remainder of the playoffs en route to the finals, including an all time great series where he put up 26/5/10 on 74% TS in a 4 game sweep of the Nuggets and the MVP of the league.

Who was the better 35 year old?

I think I'd pick CP3.

Not a fan of Curry's defense this season at all.

When looking at the playoffs, this is clearly CP3. That Phoenix team was a few bounces here and there from leading 3-2 or evening winning the Finals 4-1 with CP3 their best player. Curry still had a pretty good season, though the impact for whatever reasons wasn’t there this year.
