Do the 24 Wolves have the best big man rotation in Nba history?

thats a hell of a 3 and Naz and Kat can play 4 or 5. What makes it special is all 3 are completely different styles of play. Kat is their best low post defender, scorer and shooter of the 3. Naz is their best handler, off dribble scorer and most versatile. Rudy best shotblocker, overall defender, rebounder, screener

The frontcourts of the 85-86 Boston Celtics are tops in history.

The 85-86 Rockets and 98-99 Spurs Twin Tower duos would be a major problem for the 23-24 Twolves frontcourt.

Of course they had a 3rd guy. Let's pick Will Perdue because I'm too lazy to go look right now. Robinson/Duncan/Perdue is better than that Wolves trio even if Perdue isn't as good as Naz. Those first couple years of Robinson with Duncan, he's better than both Towns and Gobert quite clearly. And obviously Duncan is.

To be perfectly honest, on an absolute level, yes.

I’m being serious. Their ability to stretch the floor is absolutely crucial. A stretch 5 is a necessity if your best player is a 2 guard who likes to get downhill.

I will probably get clowned for this but in the 2024 NBA, a stretch 4/5 like Reid and KAT who can also hold up defensively is more valuable than an elite 80s post up player.

Absolutely not. I'm not letting KAT off the hook for just not being that good. And generally mistake prone on both ends.

Naz Reid is an interesting good player but not a dominant one. And Gobert is older and not what he was in Utah athletically. Their frontcourt is good but McDaniels is having an amazing playoff run. Conley is still high quality, Edwards has played like a top 5 guy. That's really where the dominance comes from.

Kats been their 2nd best player these playoffs and was their best player in a game 7 on the road against the champs

Rudy missed game 2 and they had their 2nd most dominant game of the series arguably most dominant defensive game where Kat outplayed Jokic on both ends. Kat is their best low post defender and can actually guard Jokic a on 1 while Rudy cant which helped massively even tho Rudy is obviously their best overall defender

He commits dumb fouls but hes still a star big and the best shooting big in the Nba at the very least best 3pt shooting big

IT is a more interesting question whether they have the best big man rotation of all time for today's game. KAT is certainly one of the best 3 point shooting bigs of all time regardless of what you think of the rest of his game. Gobert is one of the outstanding defensive bigs, probably top 10 all time, again, regardless of what you think of the rest of his game. Reid is a good reserve who has played well for them.

Would Parish, McHale, and Walton be as effective in today's game, (leaving apart Bird who I believe was a better PF than a SF but was playing 3 out of necessity rather than fit)? They would certainly be a great defensive group still. Offensively, they would clog the lane a lot more than modern offenses desire, though all had some midrange shooting ability. It's at least a closer question and one that could certainly be argued for the TWolves if you leave Bird out of it and limit it to today's game.

Another question; if LeBron is playing the 4, are the Wolves trio better than a healthy Unibrow, LeBron, and Rui combination for the Lakers? Are they better than a healthy Porzingis, Tatum, and Horford trio for the Celtics? Is it fair to exclude questions of health when those 2 trios have had significant health issues?

Besides the Celtics and both twin tower combinations, I'd have considered:

1994 Rockets:
Hakeem
Otis Thorpe
Robert Horry
-They had great chemistry, obviously. Thorpe was a borderline all-star like Gobert but was traded for Clyde the following year.

2018 Pelicans:
AD
Cousins
Mirotic
-Not much chemistry, but offensively, they put up 68ppg combined.

2019 Raptors:
Gasol
Pascal
Ibaka
-Awesome frontcourt on both ends. They even had OG on a technicality.

1994 Knicks:
Ewing
Oakley
Mason (or Charles Smith if Mason is too short)
-Not great offensively, but very intimidating.

yeah. let's do a simple experiment and give TD/Drob (say 99-01 max) a backcourt with Conley and Ant. Instant all-time great team. The unstoppable Lakers would have looked way more feasible.
