Re: Rank These Guards
1. D'Angelo Russell - the only one with an All-Star level peak here. Even though he's not been able to maintain that level, I'd still take him over the others even in his current day form.
2. Terry Rozier - just a solid player all around imo. The only one of this group outside of Russell I see as clear starter caliber.
3. Collin Sexton - if not for this season I might've placed him lower but he seems to have find his role now as a 6th man kind of microwave scorer. He doesn't really provide much outside of his scoring but he's a guy you can hand the offense to for short stretches and at least he'a efficient.
4. Malik Monk - kind of in a similar situation to Sexton but I find the buzz he got for 6MOY this year a little overblown tbh. He's a valuable bench guy but doesn't really impact the game that much.
5. Anfernee Simons - I know some people are high on him but I don't think he has it and I also don't think he'll figure it out at this point in his career. On face value he has good looking statlines but he just doesn't do anything particularly well imo, he's not even all that efficient unlike Sexton. He has never even reached 1 VORP in a season and his career high WS is 2.5.
