From the OP, I went with team Blazers. They're much more balanced, particularly on defense and in the paint. I suppose Amare could play center, but then who do you remove? Maybe:

2005 Steve Nash
2023 Devin Booker
2023 Kevin Durant
1993 Charles Barkley
2008 Amare Stoudemire

Inclindation at first glance is Blazers look somewhat like a team. Suns look like an all star team with lots of shoot first guys and little in the way of D (especially since this is Phoenix era Barkley).

You had me with Blazers more balanced ... the solution is Marion out "STAT" in? Why not throw in Chambers too?

Mind you benches do matter so that's always in my head when a five man team is thrown out.

With this team, I'd remove Barkley if I'm adding A'mare. You are going to need Marion's all over the place defense to stay relevant. You might want someone like a young and healthy Thunder Dan at the 2 instead of Booker for similar reasons.

Might want to go 8 man rosters but require that the player was actually a bench player for reserves to we don't have 8 Hall of Famers. Anytime you have Walton on a team, even 77, you are going to have a lot of missed games. It was his most active year but he still only played 65 games.

Would you consider Phoenix-era Kidd as a substitute for Nash? You definitely lose shooting and pure playmaking but gain a fair amount of size and point-of-attack defence.

Hate to give up Nash's Phoenix impact; look at how much his teammates improved over the Kidd years. Kidd has one arguably the GOAT impact defensively but his offensive impact in Phoenix was not comparable. I think Majerle is closer to Booker than Phoenix Kidd is to Nash.

Oh IKIK, but Booker and Nash are a deeply porous back court. And it's not as though Kidd had a superb offensive cast or innovative coaching to work with during his Phoenix stint.

Still a definite downgrade from Nash, but there's still a pretty decent amount of shot creation remaining on that roster.

Good calls on Thunder Dan and Kidd. I couldn't take out Barkley since he's too good considering all-time Suns. After more consideration, I'd take out KD since we're not getting peak KD anyway:

2005 Steve Nash or 2000 Jason Kidd
1993 Dan Majerle
2006 Shawn Marion
1993 Charles Barkley
2008 Amare Stoudemire
