2017 Warriors vs 2024 Celtics w/ Kawhi instead of Tatum

Hypothetical:

Both teams cruise through their respective conference finals, Porzingis has a grade 1 calf strain he suffered in g2 of the ECF. The Celtics and Warriors both beat their ECF opponents in 4 and now have 12 days off to recover before the finals.

Everyone is fully healthy coming into the finals. Who wins?

Curry-Thompson-Durant-Green-Pachulia

vs.

Jrue-White-Brown-2019 Kawhi-Porzingis

That would be interesting.

Does 2019 Kawhi wear out in the finals like he did then?

I think I'd still lean Warriors, but it'd be a crazy series.

let’s assume both teams have like 12 days rest coming in. So they are 100% fresh before the start of the series.

Warriors unless peak Al Horford and injury free Porzingis play.

Warriors have too many guys that are non-shooters. Double off of Pachulia, sag off of Green.

Put peak Brown on Curry, and Curry is not getting open looks through screens. Worst case they switch 1-4. Celtics can put Kawhi on Draymond or Kawhi on Pachulia, Curry has no open looks via the PnR.

Celtics have arguably the best player, the better defense, and zero holes on either side of the ball.
