What was Sedale Threatt's game like?

Offensively and Defensively?

When he was in his early years with Philadelphia and Chicago, his prime years with Seattle and L.A. Lakers (post-Magic, pre-Van Exel days), and his later years with the Lakers (the Van Exel days) and Houston?

I saw mostly the second half of his career when he was on Seattle and then all of his Laker career. From what I remember, he had a solid mid-range game and was a very good on-ball defender. Chick Hearn (longtime Lakers announcer) nicknamed him "Threatt the Thief" due to his defense. He was never an all-star, but always a solid rotational guard. In both teams, he was eventually replaced in the starting lineup with someone who surpassed him in talent (Gary Payton and Nick Van Exel).

Had he played during the modern era, he probably would've been a good 3-point shooter as he started shooting more in the 90s. The closest modern player I can think of Dennis Schroder.

Threatt was a streaky scorer who could be very very very very good when hot sticking mid range pull up jumpers with a hand in his face. When cold he would sometimes stop shooting even on open shots. Threatt was not hot more than he was hot.

Threat was a solid but not anything special point guard playmaker.

Threat was a good pesky hard workinging defender who liked to crowd opposing pointguards and disrupt their drbbles. He was fast but not blazing fast. Has abilty to harrass point guard dribblers was more about effort, good stamina and good tecnique than it was about overwhelming raw speed but he was slightly faster than the average point guard.

He was a homeless man’s Dana Barros, a poor man’s Sam Vincent, a rich man’s John Battle and a millionaire’s Kyle Macy.
