Klay for me. A perfect 3 and D support all star.

Klay is an elite 3&D player and high IQ, Booker is offensive 1st option, a great efficient one, in most cases the offensive 1st option are by default the better players, but in this case we're talking top 5 shooter all time? Tough choice...
If Booker is your best player, your ceiling is pretty limited, if prime Klay is your 2nd option you're in a very good shape.

Doesn't really seem fair to compare a guy whose approaching the end of his career to a 27 year old. For all we know Booker hasn't even hit his prime years yet, dude was the youngest player in the draft when he entered the league. Even if we're comparing both 10 years in, Klay would have been 31.

Already stated, but to put it really succinctly:

Klay doesn't even have 10 prime years to offer. Klay only had a 5 year prime, 2015-2019. He never fully recovered from the Achilles and ACL tears. Booker's prime is going into its 6th year this coming season and he shows no signs of an early slowdown. Barring major injury we can expect Booker to make several more all-star teams. Under OP's terms, Booker is the obvious choice.

Peak is a better argument. Booker is a better offensive player than prime Klay. Question is whether Klay's defense makes up for the offensive gap. On a stacked roster like the 2017 Warriors, I'd take Klay. On most rosters I'd take Book.

At his best Klay was top notch on both ends of the floor. His best is better than Bookers best. Problem is Klay really had one year and parts of 3-4 other years at that level. Booker for a 10 year period appears to be the better choice. And Booker did put together one fantastic year so far where he was 1st team all NBA and several solid seasons….but there is the matter of the rings.
Still for a 10 year period I have to go Booker.

Klay is a slighter better tool for winning a championship. Booker can score on everyone, but not efficiently. The way he attracts extra attention doesn’t lead to shots of high value compared to Mitchell for example because booker is creating space as opposed to breaking down the defense in the playoffs. Defensively it’s not that close. Klay was as good as like Danny green, a guy who’s just there for his defense.

Klay has numerous seasons where his playoff drives led to the same number of assists as booker.

Entirely dependent on team construction. Booker isn't your ideal #1 option, but he's more suited for the role than Klay Thompson IMO. But Klay's already proven that he was one of the best and most consistent second options in the league.
