IF they moved the 3 point line to 25' . . .

It would eliminate the corner 3 creating an arc from a bit below the foul line around the top of the key and back down. It would also crowd the 3 point space a little more without the corner 3.
What players would be hurt the most by eliminating the 22 foot corner 3? Would it change pace and space basketball significantly?

It would limit slashers and c&s players.
It would benefit cutting big men and long distance snipers.
It would totally change the landscape of the NBA.

It would mitigate some of your 3&D role players (the guys whose primary job on offense is to spot up on the perimeter [often in the corner] to stretch the floor, and occasionally hit open looks).
I think it would expand the value or importance of the best long-range bombers who can shoot off the dribble and off the high screen (and who rarely shot from below the FT-line extended anyway), and whose primary value is their high efficiency volume scoring.......guys like Steph Curry or Dame Lillard are the first to come to mind.

This is exactly what should happen. It would bring back more diversity to the game.

I agree with what others have mentioned. Even if they change nothing else, it would bring more variety to the game again while true long-range snipers who can shoot off the dribble will still be valuable. If you're just a spot up shooter, perhaps the midrange would be utilized more.

Ok, next step, we go to Adam Silver and get it done.

I think Adam Silver and the league are very cautious about doing anything that might possibly result in final scores under 100 points.
We saw just last year when the game had gotten so far tilted in favour of the offense it had to get to an almost absurd level before they were finally willing to change something, and when they did it was a very minor change that had an immediate positive impact. The game and the fans had been screaming for that type of change for several years and they mostly ignored it.
I personally would love if they moved the line back to 25 feet and removed the corner three. I think it would bring back mid-range shots and post-ups and restore some diversity to offensive playing styles and player types.
But it would potentially have a big impact on spacing, free flowing offenses and final scores, and that seems to be the only things Adam Silver cares about, so I think they would be extremely hesitant to do it.

They don’t even have to move the line back. At the arch break just run the line to the sideline instead of baseline. That’s it. One simple change.

My thought had always been to change 2's to 3's and 3's to 4's thus diluting the value of "3"'s, but I kind of like this idea better, for some reason I never thought of it. Like I always just assume pushing the line back still leaves the corner 3, but yeah why not just have the line end at the edges and eliminate that.
That said I think either strategy could work, but not sure the NBA will do anything about it as its a drastic change.

I'd prefer the change Tim suggested, since it would allow for more direct comparisons with other eras of basketball, but yeah, changing the two into a three feels like altering the numbers of strikes or walks in baseball, or the yards to get a first down in football.

That would make someone like Steph even more overpowered than he already is.
Would probably end up turning the game more linear, where players are camped around the new arc line, rather than radiating out from the backet as it happens now. The defenders would be spaced away from the basket..
The drive and kick game would be non-existant. Im not sure if the midrange would be any more popular than they are now. But it would create way more slashing oppotunities, attacking the rim would be easier than ever.
