1993 Hakeem Tracking & Analysis

Post#1 » by Lebronnygoat » Thu Nov 28, 2024 4:45 am

Here, I’ll be showing all the film of Hakeem I’ve officially tracked and wrote down his creations. This will include 1993-1994 Hakeem because of the following:
1. 93 & 94 Hakeem had the same exact offensive situation and scheme, the offense ran through him
2. Not enough film for 93 Hakeem, so using 94, the same player and scheme, is fair
3. Still, there’s 3 games here of 1993

(highlight video covers some of the 1st half where Hakeem creates 4 more times)

2:10
2:40
9:25
11:30

(total for 16 creations, probably near 20 if I could watch the whole first half)

Honestly, the most heliocentric ball I’ve seen from a big man barring maybe Kareem and Wilt. Hakeem definitely averages 15+ creations a game, the lowest game i found (1994) was 9 creations. For reference, is still great for even guards in this era. He’s able to hit cutters once space opened up (which is why he was reluctant earlier in his career) and processes the court pretty well for his shooters.

Any chance you could do David Robinson as well so we could compare apples to apples?

Drob in 1990 was 4 creations in a game. I’ll have to track 1993 and onwards later though.

If you do 95 Hakeem, that's the year he made his bones against Robinson in the playoffs so that would be the one I'd be most interested in.
