He seems to be a winner player. Teams could look for those stats in other/upcoming players.

His calling card has always been man defense so it would be tracking stats most likely. Then you have to trade that off against his salary, level of disruption when he's disruptive (which he has been), and shooting efficiency or lack thereof to make the call.

Pretty much any stat grounded in +/- data. He's a 'value not captured in the box score' type of player and as noted above, defense is a major reason for that. But I also think he's more savvy offensively than people realize despite his inconsistencies as a scorer. There's something to be said for players who maintain high levels of awareness/intensity in low usage roles.

Yeah...as much as he memed himself into harsher scrutiny he'd be a pretty valuable piece on any contender.

Brooks usually has a good On/Off. What's really surprising is his offensive On/Off has been better than his defensive in several seasons of his career. That's surprising both because of Brooks' rep as a defense/enforcer type and because you wouldn't think a guy who is inefficient and is not a playmaker would not be a positive impact offensive player.

Dillon Brooks is also a goon and you want at least one of those on your team, especially if you plan to make a deep playoff run. You want someone who is going to help your team win the psychological battle against the other team. That's a hidden value from guys like Draymond, Rodman, Artest, Laimbeer -- the intimidation factor that comes from playing against someone who you know is hunting for opportunities to cause you physical pain.

It's worth noting that when Memphis had their best regular season in 2022 finishing 2nd in West, he actually missed more than half of the games
