If we're focusing exclusively on scoring, there's an argument for Kyrie over LeBron for Cleveland.
Well at least we're not Detroit!

Wizards: OP has King/Hayes/Beal/Monroe, 70s adds Bailey Howell.

I'd look at Bellamy and Arenas as well and using historical TS Add from Doctor MJ's top 5 each year list:

Bells when he 1st came into the league put up big numbers on awful teams
62, 340.5; 63 306.0; 64 272.9; 65 283.8 (playing next to Bailey Howell)

Howell
65 272.8; 66 189.0

Arenas
06, 182.7

Those are the only Wizards that ever were top 5 in TS ADD (attempts to judge scorers by volume and efficiency). Best years for the other named players as a Wizard:

Monroe 68, 76.8
Hayes 76, -8.9
King 88, 22.9
Beal 17, 152.3

So, Bellamy pretty clearly the best and it's not close as no one else sustained their peak production long.

Good point, somehow I forgot that Bellamy started in "Wizards" franchise. Statistically he's the clear choice here.

Wanted to add Arenas yesterday to the OP. Forgot about him. Also Chambers was probably worth mentioning in Suns.

76ers are an interesting case - Wilt/Erving/Embiid/Iverson.

Do Mel Daniels and George McGinnis have a case for Indy above Reggie?

If you want to go with the early 1970s Pacers, then Roger Brown was likely their best scorer (definitely over Mel).

McGinnis is tough, he has volume but he hovered around league average efficiency. He did translate his scoring production in postseason though, so it's an interesting choice. I think Brown was the best postseason scorer among them though.

Definitely Lillard for the Blazers. You could argue that Drexler was a better all around player or led the team to greater success, but Lillard is the franchise leader in total points, franchise ppg, single season ppg, and single game records for scoring. Clyde had one 50 pt game in his career. Dame had five 60+ pt games in a Blazer uniform.

Hawks can go either way as both Pettit and Nique averaged 26.4ppg with the club

Not if you care at all about efficiency. Pettit was tiers ahead of zero-defense, mediocre efficiency Wilkins.

For OKC Durant obviously still reigns supreme, but actually it's about to get interesting if Shai can keep his production up.

This is about to be Shai's 3rd consecutive 30+ PPG season for the Thunder, which Durant never actually accomplished. Due to his longevity with the team plus him being a great scorer in his early stages of his career, he'll stay there for a while.

If SGA can keep this going for two more seasons though, I think it'll be hard to deny him the best scorer honor. Man is ridiculously consistent and makes the most inefficient shot in the league look like an efficient one.

SGA has ZERO case over Durant. Using Raw Counting Stats across different eras of NBA basketball is extremely misguided.

Durant in 2014 averaged 34 IA(Inflation Adjusted)/PPG per 75 on +9.4 rTS.

When adjusting for Pace & the League's Offensive environment, Durant in the Regular Season has scored more points than SGA, on better efficiency and on a better Team Offenses than SGA has ever had.

First of all, I don't like starting sentences with "ZERO CASE" and all. This means you're not here for an argument and just in it to make grandoise statements.

Secondly, I hate using per 75 as a stat. If you care to explain why you use it over per 100, I'm all ears.

Third, if you're saying these without naming any sources, you should at least also include Shai's IA/PPg per 75 stats so we can see how he currently stacks to Durant's MVP season. Which reminds me, that's of course his best season with the Thunder so using a single season data to crown him isn't the best way to make a case.

You can say he had the best peak overall, and I'd be more accepting of that statement.

Shouldn't the statistical comparison between per 75 and per 100 be essentially the same? As for which is "better," how many possessions is a modern player like Durant or SGA averaging per game?

i know the stats point to Beal being the better scorer at his peak ('19-'20/'20-'21) (higher points per possessions on much better efficiency) but i still feel that prime arenas ('05-'06/'06-'07) was a better scorer than beal. better all-around scorer, got to the rim and FT line more, played significantly more games, and... better playoff performances

I had thought Arenas too but his game was higher variance while Beal was more consistent. 2006 Arenas has higher TS Add (and 2005 better than Beal's 2nd best season) despite Beal being more efficient by box score because the league has become significantly more efficient between 2006 and 2017.
