Basically what the title says. How many seasons of Kevin Durant are you taking over 2024 SGA? How many seasons of Kevin Durant are you taking over 2025 SGA with the big caveat that the season isn’t over yet

For 2025-I imagine none, unless I see something particularly concerning from Shai in the PS. Projecting forward, I have a good amount of faith in Shai to just be in a different tier as a lead playmaker and ball-handler, that makes him the decisive pick.

2024- Much closer, and there could be multiple years. The healthy years between 2012-2021, I suppose all could be in consideration because I believe they are in a similar tier.

2025, none if SGA keeps it up relatively in the playoffs.

2024, you can make arguments for a few seasons. 2014, 2017, and 2021.

2012-21’. Basically everything from beating the Spurs in the WCF to carrying Brooklyn with Blake Griffin as their 2nd leading scorer in the playoffs.

So, I see Durant have a half-decade run from '12-13 to '16-17 that can be argued to be better than Shai's best seasons. As I said in another thread, much depends on whether we see indicators that playoff opponents can make a serious dent in Shai's effectiveness. To this point I see no evidence of this - despite my concerns about foul-drawing dependency - but until he leads the team to a deep run there's still a good amount of uncertainty.

Just based on regular season, at the end of last season, I'd probably have put the 5 seasons in question ahead of Shai.

'24-25 Shai though is on pace for a more impressive regular season than I ever saw from KD.

2014 KD is one of the best RS I’ve ever seen and right there with Shai.

Despite conventional wisdom and myths, there’s a higher free-throw rate in the playoffs than there is in the regular season for just about every season on record. He should be fine.
