Likely contingent upon Finals performance and outcome but assuming a very likely solid Finals performance, FMVP and title for SGA, who you got?

Entire season or just the playoff run?

Entire season not just playoffs.

If Shai has a decent or better finals and gets fmvp its definitely him. Not only was his rs much better but he played like 15 more games and the playoffs haven't been that much in Kawhi's favor I would say. I'd say if Shai actually has a solid finals he's peaked higher than Kobe and is in the top 20-23 for peaks.

Probably has to be Kawhi still.

You're not consistent with your arguments at all.

Kawhi's still playing, and won a title 6 years ago. He knows he can't do the whole "the league was a lot worse then and he could never adapt to today's style of play and league environment" shtick with a guy who's still in the league and just posted a 22/6/3 RS and a 25/7.5/4.5 postseason (on 63% TS, no less).

I fail to see any inconsistency.

There's no argument for Kawhi over SGA, but you didn't say not close this time, because you have a bias towards Kawhi.

The same arguments you put forth for SGA over Kobe, you can do so for SGA over Kawhi. You chose not to.

It's not complex; Kawhi at his peak is a substantially better player than Kobe ever was, so of course it's closer.

SGA easily. 2019 was 6 years ago. Modern players are much better than 2019 players.

The metrics show Kawhi being better somewhat. 2019 Kawhi isn't peak Kawhi either.

Not substantially better

And this doesn't address the point

You picked Kawhi over SGA. 2019 Kawhi has no case and you were biased to favor Kawhi

'19 Kawhi is a bit overrated IMO. Sure he was healthy the whole time, but '17 and even '21 he was playing better. The season ending injuries are what hurt Kawhi the most in his legacy arguments.

I disagree with this assessment though.

I agree 2017 Kawhi was his peak year.

Provide the case for Kawhi then

Provide the case for Kawhi then

It's been discussed on here many times before.

You have trouble reading my posts.

You said Kawhi is better than SGA. What's the case there?

Not sure why I should rehash it here, when you can just go post in that thread which makes all the arguments already.

There's no mention of SGA there

So you have no case besides a clear bias for Kawhi

Gotcha
