Pick ten players, you can use their best season wearing Bulls uniform (at least 50% of the season playing for the Bulls).
Assemble your best 10-man rotation best suited in your eyes to compete in modern-game environment.

My pick:
Scottie Pippen / Derrick Rose
Michael Jordan / Kirk Hinrich
Jimmy Butler / Toni Kukoc
Luol Deng / Dennis Rodman
Artis Gilmore / Joakim Noah

Heavily considered:
Pau Gasol, Alex Caruso, Horace Grant, Bob Love, Elton Brand, Ron Harper, Steve Kerr, DeMar DeRozan

I like the idea of playing the 3 forwards (Pippen/Butler/Deng) with MJ in the starting lineup and having Rose lead the bench.

Also like Captain Kirk as the final guard, would seem to fit pretty well with any of the others. Less talent than a few other options, but I like the optionality he brings vs a guy like Theus.

Gasol in place of either C if I wanted a more offensive slant to the lineup seems perfectly reasonable.

Only swap I'd make for sure would be Grant or Love in place of Rodman. Leaning Grant as more proven in the smaller role.

Not enough 3pt shooting in the starting 5.

I wouldn't want Rose or Butler on a superteam. Low-character players who crave the spotlight. Jordan would want them gone in favor of complementary shooters.

Butler I get.

Don't understand the Rose inclusion. I thought he did an excellent job handling his injuries and going from MVP to just a guy at a young age.

That's fair. I think I projected Rose's off-court stuff in ways that did not ultimately affect his career.

I'd consider Norm Van Lier and Jerry Sloan over Hinrich. Might go with Hinrich or even a Zach LaVine for the 3 point shooting but they were both players at or above the Captain Kirk level. Chet Walker was better than Bob Love in that era as well; efficient scoring with good defense v. inefficient with slightly better defense. Walker v. Deng is a challenging decision, especially if you are going to play them at PF but I'd play Grant there. Also pretty sure Jordan and Butler would create some issues but would try it for the talent and would try the 3 wing lineup to get the main playmakers in there.

Jordan Rose
Butler Kukoc/Harper
Pippen Walker
Grant Deng/Rodman
Gilmore Brand

Van Lier/MJ/Pippen/Grant/Gilmore
Love/Grant/Rose/Cartwright/Kukoc

Im still a big believer in going big even today. Sending Gilmore and Cartwright vs todays more flexible bigs is going to overpower them and create foul trouble and open lanes for dribble drive later in the game. Having a Cartwright to set a "modern screen" will free up slashers for easy baskets.

Hinrich / Caruso
Jordan / Korver
Pippen / Butler
Kukoc / Grant
Noah / Gilmore

You have to put in a few less talented but good fitting shooters, and pick one of Butler or Rose. Noah is a great C for their style of play.
