How many KG years would you take over Peak Dirk?

03-05, and 08

I'd have to go with '03, '04, and '08. KG's impact seems a little more real and less system dependent with the better box score and insane defense so when he has crazy impact numbers, I'm probably gonna default to him over Dirk. I'm not taking years where he didn't make the playoffs or have crazy impact over an all-time championship season though.

03-05, maybe 06 and 07, and 08.

KG Dirk is the only true pure basketball rivalry of the 21st century imo. To pick a side in the debate represents so much more than just the players.

I think the only years I feel confident Garnett was better than peak Dirk are 2003 and 2004. I also think 2008 is probably a wash.

I mean I'm taking none. I'm also super biased. But you can't convince me 04 KG is meaningfully better as a team anchor than a typical Dirk prime season and Dirk doesn't have any massive outlier years--whatever year you pick as his best he has 10 more that are at least 90% as good.

Dirk was just too proven as a guy you could put any style roster around and have a very good team and 4 years that very good team was championship level and you are looking at his best teammates are Nash before taking basketball fully seriously and Michael Finley or Jason Terry and Josh Howard or Tyson Chandler and Jason Kidd(I really really want to say 38 year old since Sam Cassell always always always has to have that caveat, but...)

That's a franchise player I want. And he's not just a regular season guy. He's is the most offensively resilient playoff performer of his generation which includes some all-timers(KG among them). Not sure why I'd take any version of KG over that.

Its either none or many (2003 2004 2005 2008).depends what you like.2004 kg is Nothing to make fun of though...

I've become a bit higher on Dirk than I used to be. I'd say only 2003 and 2004 I am confident in these days.
