I'm biased as a Blazer fan, but I take Roy.

Better leader. Clutch. Younger. No Technical fouls.

Roy, Roy, Roy

I think they are both great players depending what your team needs. Every team could use a guy like rip that keeps the offense moving, and is deadly from mid range. Every team could equally use a young guy that can make plays, and score so I think they are both great for any team.

Right now if I'm making a championship run I take Rip.

Right now I think Rip is the better player because he's a vet/is consistantly on a champioship contender, but I think that could change soon.

I wouldnt expect to see much support for Roy in this thread. Rip is a veteran for a consistant championship contender. Roy is a budding star on a team making waves right now, but even though some people may be quick to call Roy an all star guard in the west most find it hard to believe he could be as good as the proven product they have seen with there own eyes win championships and contribute to an elite team. I would expect most to choose Rip easily over Roy until Roy wins a championship.

I'd take Roy, Roy, Roy too...although give Rip respect.

Why would it be hard to believe? Compare Roy's stats this year to Rip's best years and let me know what you find out.

I am a sucker for Rip's come-off-the-screen and off-ball-movement game, so it is Rip for me. And don't forget the power of that face mask.

Never trust a man in a mask. Especially when Chauncey does everything for the Pistons that Roy does for the Blazers i.e. control the offense in late game situations.

Point taken, but Rip actually has proven himself in the playoffs and won a ring. Regular season is good, but playoffs are another thing. This is not a knock on Roy, just a general remark.

Part of it. He has experience in the league. Vetrans are generally in the prime of their carreers which is one reason why I think he's better now, and he's a proven winner. Although Roy could become better soon imo.

Also if you asked me who was better at the end of last year I would have said Rip hands down. If you asked me who I thought was better right now 17 games into this season I would have said Rip. Not going to change over 1 month where Roy played a little better then him.

18.8/2.8/3.8 vs 21.2/5.3/6.4 seems like more than a little, even including Hamilton's 7% better shooting.

Roy and IMO it's not even close.

I gotta side with the Roy people, RIP is a great offensive player and I cant think of any situation where you wouldnt want such an affective offensive player on your team. That being said in his 2nd year Roy has already shown himself as a better all-around player.

Scoring: Rip: I give him the slight edge because of his high FG% and frankly if he were on another team that asked more of him scoring I think he could be 4 to 6 points higher.

Playmaking: Roy: Not sure where else to call it but Roy IMO clearly has the advantage statwise but I think he also looks to get other involoved more then Rip who has more of a scorers mindset.

Rebounding: Roy: Again stats clearly back that up and you would think since Roy has a few more pounds on Rip he might be able to take more contact when it comes to get boards.

D: Even? : This is one I just could say, neither player has blown me away with there D but on the flipside neither player has made me feel like they are a below avarage defender either. Rip seems like he has quicker hands when it comes to stripping players on D where again I think Roys size give him the advantage when dealing with player who are try to be physical on offenese.

Sorry if that was long winded but in the end I would take Roy.

7%? Hamilton shot 0.550%, Roy shot 0.470%.

I think +2.4 points, +2.5 rebounds, and +2.6 assists for 1 month is a little better when Roy is the main guy on his team, and Hamilton is on a team with far better rebounders, 3 all stars + Prince to share the ball with,.

Roy's > Hamilton statisticaly 1 month so far in his career.

Roy, he's the better leader, similar scorer, better play-maker and a better rebounder.

Give me Brandon Roy. He seems like he can carry a team better.

roy is not as one-dimensional as rip and younger!...so I'd take him
