Has Big Baby passed Tyrus up ?

Who would you rather have ?

Put TT on the Celtics and he'd do the same thing IMO. This Bulls team doesn't suit him.

I'm going to go with Big Baby..

Tyrus just seems like another athletic guy that gets by on his athleticism... Whereas Big Baby is a smarter player... He makes extra passes, he can put the ball on the floor and finish with either hand around the basket, and he moves without the ball..

Tyrus dunks on people, and that all fine and good.. But, he seems like he's dumb as a brick...

Oh come on. Do you guys ever see Davis being any more than Michael Sweetney? I really see Tyrus as more of a small forward and he does great when he is played there. :nonono: Glen Davis being compared to Tyrus..

well when half of your starters can demand a double team it's pretty easy to score.

Tyrus

But I gotta say that Glen Davis looked good at the end of last night's game.

Glen Davis is playing next to 3 star players who are all 3 better then anything the Bulls have.

Tyrus gets benched after he makes one mistake.

Tyrus just seems like another athletic guy that gets by on his athleticism. He makes extra passes, he can put the ball on the floor and finish with either hand around the basket, and he moves without the ball..

This is just a misinformed post. He's developed a jumpshot, is a good passer, can also put the ball on the floor, and is quite the finisher, and one of his best assets is his moving without the ball, which is what gets him open for those alleyoops.

I really don't see why he doesn't get more PT on the Bulls. He could easily be putting up 11-12 ppg, 7-8 rpg, 1-2 apg, 1-1.5 spg, and 2-2.5 bpg right now. Just yesterday he put up 14/9/2/1/3 in 23 minutes. When he gets PT, he produces. Its been like this all year.

If its on the Bulls or not on the Bulls, Tyrus will easily be the better player in the future.

I voted for Baby but I have to say that his career path will be determined this off season.

If he hangs out with Perkins and trains his body he can be a unique player that changes games.

If he balloons in weight because he is lazy and now has some money in the bank then he will be just another fat man that ate himself out of the league.

His body weight Labor Day weekend will tell the score.

Sweetney had a higher ceiling than Davis, if he had taken care of himself.

This is Tyrus Thomas and was way too easy of a comparison. But Tyrus Thomas on the Celtics and tell him all he has to do is get offensive rebounds and dunk and you have yourself a complete beast.

Big Baby is still a better player, he was the man at LSU when they were there, and he's still better until Tyrus develops more.

Glen is far more skilled, and is a great athlete himself, he isn't an explosive leaper, but he is extremely quick for his size, super strong, has great footwork.

if tyrus was on the celtics, he would be in-effing-sane

I am a Bulls fan that voted for Big Baby. I think TT is that much of a bust. Glen Davis is becoming a legit NBA player that deserves time on one of the top 2 teams in the league.

Yeah Right... TT can't even get minutes on our crappy Bulls team that has no inside players.

Whatever. Tyrus will become at least a 16/10 player. Whether or not it will be on the Bulls, I do not know.

while i agree that thomas was drafted on potential, he doesn't have an all star on his team that makes him better.

playing next to KG as mentioned by some other posters in this thread is obviously going to make Baby's life easier.

while davis is a good athlete for his figure, he is not even in the same realm of athleticism as thomas. thomas could be one of the most athletic players in the NBA.

Davis is more sklled and has a better NBA body, but under the same situation, same coach, same roster, same PT, I have little doubt that TT would be the more productive player right now.

TT's mid/long range jumpshot has come a long way from last year. He was 3/28 (11%) last year beyond 15 feet, this year he's 13/33 (39%). Not great. But a huge improvement.

Really can't believe people answering this thread as "put Thomas on the Celtics". Saying you'd rather have Thomas makes a ton of sense. There was a reason why he was a big time prospect and Davis wasn't. However, that reason was not that Thomas has up to this point ever been the equal of Davis as a scorer.

I've seen no evidence to that effect.
