Glen Davis is better offensively while sean williams is better defensively. SWill is also more athletic and has a higher ceiling IMO so Swill easily IMO...

Glen Davis is the better basketball player, while Sean Williams is the better athlete. When Williams develops a little more he will be the better player.

I'll offer my opinion later but I'm honestly a little bit confused, where has the whole notion that Sean Williams is soft come from? Would someone like to offer a reason for why he's soft?
At least the pot jokes have some basis in reality, but this is the first time I've heard Sean Williams called soft so I just find it rather interesting that there seem to be people who do think he's soft...

Right now it's Glen Davis. In two years, when (maybe if instead of when, but I think it will happen...) Williams learns that blocks are nice and all, but man to man D is more important, it'll be Williams.
Williams has the tools to be a great defender, but instead he's just a great shot blocker. He was the same way at BC, too.

sean has the potential and is better on defense while big baby is a solid player and an instant contributor even if he's a rookie. davis is also a more rounded offensive player.

Sean Williams is a good, no, a great shotblocker, and is athletic as hell. But his rebounding and the fact that he plays with Jason Kidd, who has made other bigs look similarly good, worries me.
Then again, Big Baby would look like crap on any other team, so I'll take Sean in this comparison.

This is crazy. Sean by a mile. He would have been a top 10 pick easy if he couldve made it through the season last year.

Hey some people posted that Glen Davis is better I was just trying to gauge how high the hype around him had grown. No joke thread here sir, no joke thread at all (for once).

He is the most roundest offensive player in the league

After one great game by Big Baby and he's getting all these threads. What's next; Glen Davis or Shaq?

Because Tyrus Thomas and Sean Williams are such amazing basketball players. (They are actually two of my favorite prospects, especially Williams who I saw a lot of at BC, but neither one of them has an offensive game remotely close to even a semi-washed up Shaq)
Saying Davis is better than Williams (or Tyrus) right now is hardly ridiculous. Davis has a higher PER than both of them, a lower defensive PER than both of them, better on/off court splits than both of them and they are all putting up very similar per 40 numbers.
Neither thread has asked who has more potential; it's obvious that Big Baby doesn't have more potential than Tyrus or S-Will. He is a better basketball player right now though, whether you want to look at college production or NBA production thus far.

Sean Williams is so naturally gifted - freakishly athletic for a 5, and huge wingspan. At the moment he is only slightly more effective than big baby, but he has the potential to turn into Ben Wallace with a bit better offense. Has to pick up the rebounding though. Even still, I'll definitely take Sean.

Sean Williams is already one of the better shot blockers in the entire NBA..I don't see what Big Baby does to make himself look special..
