Make a list, check it twice, settle an argument for me.

I had Perkins about 12th in my mental list. He's a solid defender but I just couldn't put him above anybody on my top 10 list.
His on/off differential is pretty mediocre considering he plays on the starting unit alongside Garnett, Pierce and Allen. A quick glance of the player pairs numbers shows that Garnett's on/off differential is better when he is not alongside Perkins than when he is (+19 and +15 respectively).

Bynum is not better than Biendrins?.. Also I think Dalembert's defense is over rated (although I have only seen him play twice this year)

Amare? Hell, why not put Curry there as well?

Yao is wayyyyyyyy underrated.... ever since he got burned by Boozer (a PF facing him up, he doesn't get any credit).
He's a TERRIFIC post defender, and a great anchor. I dunno what the stats are like this year, but he annually anchors one of the best teams...
The only guy I can say for certain is a better defender is Tim Duncan, and probably Emeka Okafor if we are counting him as a C.

He belongs on the other list. He may get a lot of blocks but he'll let his man score easily as demonstrated by Bynum's career high against him.

Me too. Hes definitely got some decent stats, but his man defense is pretty piss poor.

Dude, he is way underrated by just 2 posters. Nobody else is posting a list, they're just criticizing Jack's and mine.
I thought a 6th place award was pretty good. I don't think that's wayyyyyy underrating him. Haywood played him to a standstill Monday night. When Haywood was benched near the end of the 3rd quarter, their respective statlines were as follows:
Yao 6-15 FG, 12 Pts, 2 Reb, 2 Ast, 1 Blk, 4 TO
Haywood 4-6 FG, 11 Pts, 4 Reb, 2 Ast, 1 Blk, 3 TO
Yao put up some nice numbers down the stretch when our coach inexplicably kept Haywood out of the game. (This is something that has been complained about ad nauseum on the Wizards board.)
I can live with the criticism about Dalembert. Maybe he is too high. I've also been toying with moving Chandler up a bit. I forgot about Okafor too, but I wouldn't rank him much higher than 7th or so.

That's because I'm assuming the only 2 times you saw him were when he got abused by Bynum. He's a very good team defender, and good man defender. Bynum just seems to have his number.

Wallace is no longer anything more than a mildly above-average defender, at best. For 2 years now, Chicago has been significantly better defensively when Wallace was off the court. His rebounding and shot blocking is way down too. And he hasn't been a good post defender in years.

by Rasheeed!!!
Given that Rasheed plays C this season, he's gotta be in the mix (with the like's of TD, KG). He's a better anchor than expected!
