I don't think Okafor is a bust. I am sure a lot of teams would want him to be their starting center or PF.

Dunleavy is 17/6. Far from a bust.

Williams and Livingston had their careers ended due to injury, and both seemed fairly promising early on. I guess it's up to you if you want to call them a bust due to injury but it seems like an unfair label to put on them.

I think biggest bust considering who was drafted after him was Darko.

Biggest bust due to just being a total piece of crap was either Hoffa (8) or Shelden Williams (5). I also think Tyrus Thomas will eventually be a bust, but I'll reserve judgement on him b/c he came out after his freshman year and still has that great athleticism.

Worst number one pick during that time period is easily Bargnani.

Now why would Dunleavy and Okafor come to mind?

For me it's Darko, even worse when the Pistons passed on Bosh, Melo, or Wade to get him.

Darko is the biggest bust so far. Considering who they could have got (Bosh, Wade, Melo) and also considering hes had PLENTY of time to get comfortable and get adjusted to the league(5+ Seasons).

as for bargs, time will only tell (its too early now)

Jay Williams never got a chance, I wouldn't consider him a bust, more of a mistake (there is a difference since a bust actually has to play).

I give it to Hoffa. After him there was, Iggy, Josh Smith, JR Smith, etc.

You bustiness is based off the expectations people had of you. I can't imagine saying anything other Darko.

Mike Dunleavy isn't a bust, certainly not in comparison to a guy like Jay Williams. Let's not forget, he's a career 12, 5 and 2.5 guy and is doing the 17, 6 and 3 thing this year. He is definitively not a bust because he's breaking out.

Shaun Livingston isn't done yet and wasn't a bust while he was playing and Okafor may not be a big-time scorer but he's also not given touches, is an excellent rebounder and an outstanding defender.

Luke Jackson or Jay Williams are easily the biggest busts in that group and Luke was drafted lower than Jay.

EDIT: I'm inclined to agree with Doctor MJ.

he is a 22yr old that is playing very effective for the wolves. Hardly a bust considering he was a mid-round pick. A bust would be someone not effective and thus out of the league.

Injuries should not count. So Wags, Jay Williams, Livingston. Also we should not take into account who was drafted afterwards, but whethere or not the individual player was able to be effective. Darko has not been a stud, but he is an effective big man that would fit into many rotations. Nobody new Wade or Bosh was going to blow up like they have.

It is early to look at Bargini and Sheldon Williams, but looking at Skita and Luke Jackson and Kandi I would say are the 3 main busts.

The biggest bust has to be a first pick. Michael comes to mind.

I disagree with the Okafor selection. He's a great defensive big man. Darko is worthier of being considered a bust than Okafor.

Milicic, Kwame Brown, Randy Foye (so far), Araujo lead my list. It wasn't Jay Williams's fault he was a bust, that motorcycle accident traumatized him.

It's Darko Milicic, has had excuses everywhere he's gone and comes to Memphis signing a fairly large contract and given the starting C job, and his stats are:

6.6 points per game
5.8 rebounds per game
1.1 assists per game
42 FG%
44 FT%

He's a good shot-blocker, but not a great defender. Then you consider the players who were selected after him and it's not even a comparison (Melo, Wade, Bosh, Howard etc.)

WOW are you serious?

Kid cracked his knee cap and played on it all summer. He has finally been cleared to practice dummy drills.

Last year he came off the bench for most of the year and was still one of the best 4th quarter guys.

Randy's stat lines in April 2007 (his last 10 regular season games for those of you paying attention, when we let him start):

4/1 @ ORL: 3-5, 3-3 from 3, for 9 points, 2 boards, 3 assists
4/3 vs. CLE: 6-12, 1-6 from 3, 5-5 from the line, for 18 points 3 boards, 6 assists, 1 steal
4/6 @ NYK: 6-9, 5-6 from 3, 2-3 from the line, for 19 points, 1 board, 6 assists, 1 steal
4/7 vs. NOR: 5-8, 2-2 from 3, 2-4 from the line, for 14 points 4 boards, 6 assists
4/9 vs. TOR: 2-4, 1-3 from 3, 4-4 from the line, for 9 points, 2 boards
4/11 vs. DAL: 4-9, 1-5 from 3, 2-2 from the line, for 11 points 1 board, 2 assists, 1 steal
4/13 vs SAS: 7-15, 0-2 from 3, 2-2 from the line, for 16 points, 2 boards, 2 assists, 1 steal
4/15 @ GSW: 5-15, 1-4 from 3, 2-2 from the line, for 13 points, 3 boards, 2 assists, 1 steal
*4/16 @ DEN: 6-10, 3-4 from 3, 4-4 from the line, for 19 points, 9 boards, 5 assists, 1 steal
*4/18 vs MEM: 10-15, 2-3 from 3, 4-5 from the line, for 26 points, 8 boards (5 offensive), 6 assists, and 3 steals

*Started

For the month, thats 15.4 ppg on 52.9% from the field, 50% from 3 on 3.8 3PA, 87.1% from the line on 3.1 FTA, 3.8 apg, 3.5 rpg, and 0.9 spg.
