Why is Okafor's name even on the list? He might not be an offensively gifted player but he plays outstanding defense and rebounds ferociously. At the beginning of last season, this guy was in mvp talks and putting up 20/13/3blks until something happened that I cant quite remember. He is going to be a damn good player for years to come. How is he a bust?

People defending Telfair kind of surprised me.

The reason I said his name was this: The year he was selected was the first year Portland was in the lottery in over 20 years. While the fan base was disappointed by missing the playoffs by 1 game, there was some optimism seeing as we had 2 first round picks.

It was leaked that Adidas had a deal with the company that owned the Rose Garden at the time to buy a lot of suites should Portland draft Telfair.

With the 13th pick, portland took telfair, while it was fairly common knowlege that they could have gotten him much much later in the draft.

Not only did Telfair never live up to the hype he was getting out of highschool, he got in trouble with the law, which was a HUGE deal for a team trying to shed the Jail Blazer image.

He was then traded away with Theo Ratliff for Raef and the 7th pick (thanks danny!), so it worked out for the team, but Telfair has never really shown that he's a franchise PG like he was hyped to be when he was drafted.

He's had a decent season in Minny this year, and still has plenty of upside...but he's far from being a good pick.
Thank you for all the memories BRoy. You were a class act and brought hope to an entire region for 5 years. You will be missed.

Ridnour, really?

He was taken 14th overall and has established himself as an outstanding free throw shooter and a pretty decent (if inconsistent) three-point shooter, as well as a skilled playmaker.

I wouldn't call a late lottery pick who's done what Ridnour has a bust.

Arajuo or Darko, Darko is the better playr but when you imagine that some scouts would've taken him even number one over LeBron, lol, that's tough to beat.

It's fair.

He wasn't taken over the likes of Wade, Anthony, and Bosh, but then again Darko's never been quite as bad as Ammo was last year.

I don't know how you could say that Darko in those early years was clearly better than Morrison. He didn't play enough to tell us anything. So we'll see on that.

I still think though you underrate the importance of the class one was in. There's really no way anyone in Morrison's draft class gets picked higher than 5th in 2003. Giving that benefit of the doubt and applying literally, were Morrison the 7th pick in the 2003 draft, do you really think anyone would be talking about him as the big bust of the draft over Darko?

I think Darko's impact also is just huge. As Darko struggled you could visibly see other all-potential Euro-prospects hype balloons bursting

Adam Morrison was the first person that came to mind, but Darko is the obvious answer.

Does anyone remember the fifth pick in the '02 draft? I think he has to be the worst fifth pick in NBA history and the fifth pick has a history of All-Stars and superstars.

Darko Milicic. The fact that he was picked over the likes of Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh just magnifies it to a ridiculous extent though .

Yeah he was definitely a BAD pick. He's the pick that made me weary on picking Euro's in the lottery to be honest. But I don't know man, Since 1996, there's only been three good 5th picks: Ray Allen, Vince Carter and Dwyane Wade. Nevertheless, he was a terrible pick.
