yes...another bynum-poll...sorry!

which tandem do you choose?

I think Howard has the edge over Bynum, while Lebron is better than Melo!

I'd go with Lebron/Bynum as Melo is the worst defender of the bunch...but thats just me and his offense skills should work nicely with Howard next to him.

LeBron/Bynum since LeBron is the better playmaker than Carmelo.

This one is tough...

Bynum is turning into a very good low post scorer and in my opinion the gap between Howard/Bynum will be closer than the one between James/Anthony in the years to come. I'd take the James/Bynum duo.

I feel dirty for agreeing with Titierry.

Howard/Carmelo

Even though I do not like Carmelo as a person, he is a pretty good player.

Dwight Howard is just a beast and there is a pretty big gap right now between him and Bynum, although Bynum is a gun also.

Lebron is a lot better than Carmelo, but Carmelo can still put up 25 points 8 rebounds a game, so thats not bad at all.

So yeah, Howard/Carmelo pretty easily for me.

to start a franchise? James/Bynum by a LOT.

James is playing ridiculous basketball right now that Carmello shouldn't even be included in the same sentence.

Bynum, although not near where Howard is yet, is improving every single game. Most legends improve once a season, Bynum is doing this every game.

That's gonna be a nasty franchise since they are both so young. Lakers still have to gauge Kobe's age as a factor into the championship window...

Right now Howard and Carmelo; Howard is a better player than Bynum. Lebron is a better player than Melo but not as much.

Future I think the gap will close between Howard/Bynum. I would like to see Carmelo close the gap between him and Lebron. I'm not sure how he can do that though..........

this is easily howard and carmelo right now. we see what basically bynum and lebron would be in kobe and bynum. however talking the future, howard has just as much potential left as bynum if not more. when comparing bynum and howard, imo bynum at best will be what carmelo is to lebron. so ultimately it is gonna be the best big man vs the best wing player.

Bynum could make Lebron a star.

Lebron and Bynum for the future

Lebron and Bynum and it's not even close. Right now, the gap between Bynum and Howard is just minutes, whereas the gap between Lebron and Carmelo is talent. Believe it or not, there's a wider gap in EFF between Lebron and Carmelo than there is between Howard and Bynum. However, Bynum plays a lot less minutes, so there's a much better chance of him raising that EFF than Carmelo.

If you're talking PER differential, then it's no contest. Lebron and Bynum win in a knockout.

i can't believe people are seriously trying to put bynum and howard in the same sentence

All James and Bynum would have to do is run pick and roll all game. If you double James off the pick you get the lob and if not James get a step on Anthony and finishes for dunks. Not really close. In a half court game some of the things that make Howard more effective than Bynum would be neutralized such as running the floor and rebounding and blocking shots on the weakside. Bynum has better half court post skill and is too big for howard to slow down. Look at what happened the last time they played earlier in the season. It's hard to match up with players when you physical stature is minimized. Howard is better then Bynum but not going head to head in a half court set.

"I thought Andrew did a good job defensively and was able to contain Howard in there," Lakers coach Phil Jackson said. "That's a sub-par game I would guess for Howard, after all those write-ups we read about him." From the Game re-cap page.

^ whatever i watched that game and bynum sucked. he couldn't score on howard to save his life. in the beginning of the game he probably fumbled the ball away like 3 or 4 times with howard guarding. and the magic won that game too. so please stop pimping byum to howards level. howard changes the game far more than bynum could ever hope to. call me up when bynum ever shoots 24FTS in a game. and when a 20/13 game is considered mediocre for bynum. and tell me when bynum scores over 30 points. and when bynum grabs 20 rebounds. howard averages what is considered break out games for bynum.

That was then. This is now. In the past 5 games, Bynum has actually outproduced Howard. I realized that you can pick and choose any player's good stretch and make that case, however, with Bynum, it's different, because his numbers go up every month, in other words, it's a pattern of improvement, as opposed to a player just having a good stretch. If you watch the way Bynum plays NOW, you'd have a hard time telling who's having more impact, him or Kobe.

Right now, the gap between Bynum and Howard is just minutes

i like bynum and he's playing great and he has a ton of potential....but that's just hilarious.

we're talking a 2v2 game now?
you don't think carmelo can throw lobs to howard if they double him?

you think bynum has a better chance staying in front of melo on a switched pick and role than howard in front of lebron?

   ^^^ hahaha, even Kobe is getting sh*tted on by the Bynum homers now..

Dwight Howard is seriously getting disrespected..I wonder the type of numbers he would be putting up if he was playing with a playmaker like Kobe..Lewis and Turkoglu are good players, but neither is a legit playmaker, and neither comes anywhere near Kobe..

Dwight is the #1 scoring option on his team, teams look to double him and force him to pass the ball. Kobe is the #1 scoring option on the Lakers teams look to try and stop him.

What I'm getting at is that Bynum is the beneficiary of all the attention that Kobe gets from opposing defenses, Dwight doesn't have that same luxury. $hard was supposed to help free Dwight up but he hasn't been able to consistently do that.

who cares that bynum has out produced howard the last 5 games? when howard has outproduced bynum the entire season. howard is an mvp candidate and bynum is what a runner up for MIP behind kaman. like i said compare bynum when dwight howards averages are not considred breakout games for bynum. really how many times has bynum grabbed 15 rebounds or more this season? thats right only 3 times. how many times has bynum scored over 20 points? thats right 5 times. please don't compare people like bynum who only do things like score over 20 points 5 times and grab 15 rebounds or more 3 times when the person you are comparing him to averages those type of numbers.
