Big men capable of dropping 50pts
Who are the big men capable of scoring 50pts in todays NBA?
Please try to avoid naming small fowards that are good at rebounding.
Also, who do you think is the next big man that will hit 50 points?

1) Dirk
2) Dirk
3) Dirk
4) Bosh
What makes it so hard for bigmen is they are ultimately reliant upon guards getting them the ball. And at some pt the other team is just gonna say "Enough" at which point you need to be able to make FT, which isn't always a bigmans strength.
Maybe Dwight or Bynum in a couple years if they have one of those games where they make like 18 outa 26 FTA or something stupid like that.
I'm not sure Amare will ever get back to that pre-injury dominance, but he didn't he drop 40 something on Duncan in a playoff game a few years ago? I forget, and could be way off but I'm thinking it was something like 46.

Right now I think Bosh, and Nowitzki are #1. Bosh's tied for 1st in the league this year in +40pt games with 3. Nowitzki's already done it once in his career. Maybe Amare. He's already done it once in his career, but I don't know if he'll be able to again after his surgerys.
Duncan, and KG are probably both capible. I doubt we'd see it happen mostly because they don't need to on their teams, and their a bit older now. Duncans done it before, and kg's been close.

Dirk: he can just burn you from the midrange and the 3pt line
Bosh: Mr. Do-It-All *and* he likes to take shots
Boozer: if the opposing team has bad post D
Amare: best scorer on the most high scoring team
TD could do it, but "only" in the playoffs
KG could do it if he is the lone scorer, but he is not atm
D12 could do it in the future if he polishes his game more

Just out of curiosity, why do you think Nowitzki, and Amare could but Bosh couldn't? Bosh has 2 more 40+ games this year then both of them together.ss_maverick wrote:I think Amare and Dirk are the only ones capable of it.
why is Bosh said to have a higher likelihood when Amare is clearly the superior scorer?

I kind of know what you mean, but Bosh has really improved his offensive game this season. He's a lot more versatile and is doing a good job of mixing up his game. In the past he would predictably go in triple threat, wait 4 seconds, and then decide to either drive in or shoot. This season he has done other things like sometimes scoring off of screens, using his back to the basket game more, and has been a lot more aggressive instead of settling for jumpers. Against New York he was pretty inefficient but still scored 40 points, he had his chance in that game.
