injury free Kenyon Martin maybe?
With tryus being discussed in trade talk I was wondering what his potential would be. He reminds me of kenyon but raw as hell

That same all-world athleticism, monster put-back dunking & blocking, not to forget attitude.
Kenyon played 4 years in college & I believe tyrus only played 1. Tyrus also has hinrich & gordon to set him up while martin had kidd. No disrespect to hinrich but playmaking isn't one of his strengths.
Bad or good comparison? Does tyrus have the potential to be better or just as good as prime Martin? Maybe worse?

Antonio McDyess was the old comparison. Now it looks more like Stromille Swift is the better comparison. Of course Swift did much better his first two seasons than Thomas has.
Seriously, the Bulls need to hire some player development coaches. They keep squandering talent. They draft two solid young PFs in the top 10 the past two years and neither has gotten better and both have been alienated and lost faith in their own abilities and potential. I can't fathom why Paxson still has a job.

Paxson has a job because he put together this talented young team but I really think that all the assistant coaches [the ones in charge of player development] need to be fired ASAP. They really suck lol

Its mostly ben wallace and his contract that keeps thomas from seeing the floor not how good he has been.

My how things have changed, I remember before the season started there were threads where he was being billed as a surefire all-star. Fans making claims about how he would have Kemp's offense and Ben Wallace's defensive abilities.
As far as KMart goes, he didn't regress in his first year in Denver, he just go injured so I don't know if its fair to attribute all of his ability to Kidd. KMart never showed the shotblocking ability that Ty did last season, but he was always a better offensive player.
Still, its hard to judge based on this season because that entire team has been such a disaster. A shakeup should be in the works so either Ty will be on a new team soon or he will have some new teamates. Either way, in a lost season like this he will probably see some more floor time.
He hasn't been finishing around the rim, its probably mental but for an athletic guy like him with no consistentcy to his shot he's gotta be able to finish. I liked him as a rook better than Stro and I doubt he will end up that lazy, he definitely needs to be pushed though. Expectations were always too high, he will never be an elite offensive player.

He is having trouble finishing at the rim mainly because he is trying out new moves and trying to score more using his face up game which is raw. He has shown an improved jumper and is a better shotblocker rebounder and gets more steals than stro could dream. The team is in disarray I dont think this season should be a metric to what he will become. He said he was taking 700 jump shots a day and it shows his jumper improved a lot over the summer. If he can improve that just to be a 40 percent shooter from about 15 feet he can use his athleticism to get to the rim easier.

The Bulls decided to sign Ben Wallace over Tyson Chandler and draft Tyrus Thomas over Lamarcus Aldridge. They could have been contenders for many years. Paxton failed the hardest test for GM's, which is to make the leap from playoff team to championship contender. The Ben Wallace move is really coming back to haunt this team and Tyrus doesn't seem to be all there mentally.
PG Hinrich
SG Gordon
SF Deng
PF Aldridge
Cc Chandler

Whoa indeed. That team would be up there with Detroit and Boston.

The sad thing is thats what all the draft sites were comparing him to during draft time and the Bulls still picked him #2

. When he was measured to only being 6'8 at draft camp, I was suprised his stock didn't drop

Huh? Are you talking about Noah?
And i'll just say, when Tyrus Thomas gets minutes, he produces. He's still very young. It's not his fault he has to sit behind Nocioni/Smith/Wallace/sometimes Noah. Look at his numbers when he gets 20 minutes, not bad at all from such a young guy.

Whoa.
Who's Paxton? Assuming you're talking about the Bulls' GM, John Pax
son...
Tyson Chandler admitted he did nothing during the offseason prior to the '06-'06 season, hated playing for skiles and admitted that the trade fuled him to get better. He would be an overpaid pile of sh*t if he were still in Chicago. Also, there's no reason to believe Aldridge would get PT here when Tyrus hasn't under our pathetic coaching staff.
That team, given the circumstances, wouldn't be much better than we have right now, if at all.
