Worst #1 Pick of all time

I don't know if this topic has already been done or not and if it has, my bad. But check it, I'm watching the Laker-Suns game and I can't believe how much Kwame Brown SUCKS! This guy can not make lay-ups. Bench players from the WNBA could score more points than him. For a guy who's 7 feet tall, he is scared to dunk the ball and misses lay ups. In over 7 years, he has not learned to a) slow down and b) how to catch a ball.
The only other #1 overall pick that even comes close to Kwame in terms futility would be Michael Olowokandi. But after looking at their careers stats even the Kandi Man put up better numbers than Kwame.
Kwame Brown
March 10 - 1982
6′11, 270lbs
7.6ppg, 5.7rpg, 1.1apg, 0.6spg, 0.7bpg, 0.484 FG%, .608 FT%
Michael Olowokandi
April 3, 1975
7′0, 270lbs
8.3ppg, 6.8rpg, 0.7apg, 1.3bpg, 0.435 FG%, 0.597 FT%
And who would've thunk it, we owe all the credit of Kwame being drafted #1 overall to his Airness.

I think in few years if he continues to stink up, Bargnani will be one of the worst #1 picks in history....
Bargnani
Passed up on
Brandon Roy
LaMarcus Aldridge
Rudy Gay
Candyman
Passed up on
Nowitski
Vince Carter
Paul Pierce
Jamison

A poster mentioned him in another thread, so I looked him up on basketball reference. Larue Martin a center, number 1 pick in 1972, only lasted 4 years. Career averages of 5.3, 4.6, 0.5 (Bl), .42fg%.

As a player Kandi > Kwame, but considering the players that were picked after Kandi are better than the ones picked after Kwame, then I'm inclined to go with Kandi on this one.

My fav is Joe Barry Carroll. Impossible to beat a GOAT trade which sent Parish and McHale to the Cs for a guy in the range of Rik Smits.

Smits was a lot better than Carroll; the stats aren't necessarily but Smits hustled and worked on defense. It wasn't for nothing that Carroll's nickname was Joe Barely Cares.
All the busts so far are centers picked on the theory that you can't teach height; who was the worst top pick that wasn't a C or C/F?
