Considering everything (Health, Attitude, contracts) who would you rather have on your team?

Must be true, if it's a rumor you read on Hoopshype.

Unquestionably Tracy McGrady. He's a better scorer and better passer than Carter is. Can't see any votes going Carter's way.

They are different players and TMac is the better player.

Prime T-Mac (32-7-6) was arguably the best player in the league, something Vince was never close to.

I don't know what you guys are talking about..

Vince Carter
New Jersey Nets
Position: G
Height: 6-6 Weight: 220
College: North Carolina

2007-08 Statistics
PPG 21.2
RPG 5.4
APG 4.8
SPG 0.9
BPG 0.3
FG% 0.456
FT% 0.795
3P% 0.363
MPG 38.4

Tracy McGrady
Houston Rockets
Position: G
Height: 6-8 Weight: 223
High School: Mount Zion Christian Acad. HS (NC)

2007-08 Statistics
PPG 22.2
RPG 4.7
APG 5.1
SPG 1.2
BPG 0.5
FG% 0.437
FT% 0.705
3P% 0.325
MPG 34.9

Percentage wise, he is the better scorer in every catagory, and they are neck and neck everywhere else.

I'll take Carter anyday.

Stats don't tell the story. Watch the game and you'll realize that McGrady demands so much more attention on the offense.

It's close, but McGrady's stats are a bit mis-leading. He's left 3 games at halftime and one game early third quarter. Not counting those, he'd be averaging.....

25.7 points per game
5.6 rebounds per game
6.0 assists per game
44 FG%

in lesser minutes.

Based on healthy concerns, I would easily prefer Vince

Good point, I totally forgot about that. I'm amazed someone in Toronto would pick VC over anybody.

McGrady isn't as good a scorer as Vince, people like to pretend McGrady is still the old Orlando Magic McGrady when for the last couple of years now he's been very inefficient with his shooting and horrible in his shot selection. If I'm not mistaken the numbers really prove how Vince has been the better / more efficient scorer for the last couple of years now...

That being said I don't think there's anything wrong with someone picking McGrady over Carter, it's just important to note that from a scoring standpoint Vince has been better for the last few years now.

I believe Vince has a much better contract as well.
