Who would be a better fit for the Celtics right now, based on the way they have been playing for the season?

Let's put it this way: who would you want in a last-second shot situation?
That's the role he plays for Boston. He makes clutch shots. Miller isn't really known for that.

When the time is right Ray Allen can always step up and score 30+ Mike can't.

Imagine BOS in the last seconds, KG posting up and PP cutting in. Who do you want to have for that kick out 3? Def not Mike Miller. Other than Robert Horry, Ray Ray is perfect for that job.

I'd take Miller. Someone who watches the Celtics more than me plz explain why Allen is better. Seems like he's struggling on shooting a very bad % this year. Mike Miller is a very underrated; he's a good shooter and is a better passer than Allen IMO.
EDIT-Just compared their stats and Mike Miller is blowing Ray Allen out the water. Seems like Allen is the choice because of his name and rep more than his production. Miller is putting up about 17 pts,7 rebounds and 4 assists which is good but then look at his percentanges. Almost 52% from the field,81 from the line and 44% 3 pt range. Ray Allen is putting up 18 pts a game but on under 42% from the field. Miller is much more efficient than Allen this season.

As someone who watches the Celtics, Mike Miller without a thought.
No one really knowes how much Ray Allen has regressed from his former form and are fooled by the ESPN highlight shots. All of Allen's shots in the ending minutes have come off assists from Paul Pierce setting him up. I'll easiely take my chance with Mike Miller in that situation. And more importantly I probuly won't because it won't end up that close if Ray Allen was playing anything like Mike Miller this season.

Allen is a good player but a very overrated shooter. I'll take Miller.

Ray Allen. His numbers are down but how many clutch shots did this guy make this year. You can count on him anytime to come out and give you points.

Ok. So the only thing bad with Ray is that jumper isn't on at the moment. But everyone knows how good he is when it is. The main difference between the 2 is that Ray scores 18 because one of the big 3 had to score significantly less. Mike Miller scores 17 because he's not any better than that.

Even with his teammates taking shots away from him, Ray Allen still takes three more shots per game than Miller.
At this point I would consider Miller over Allen. He's younger, bigger, and more efficient.

Playing with 2 other superstars and taking 6.4 fewer shots per game than last year should have made Allen much more efficient, not less.

Ray. He's capable of putting up 25 ppg every night if the Celts need him too (he did it last year in Seattle). Miller isn't.

The problem is, that jumper is really all he's good for. He can drive a little, but that jumper is the only reason he can get an inch of separation. Miller is better at driving, passing, handling the ball on his own, grabs more rebounds, defends better, basically everything related to basketball at the moment.

Ray Allen is just taking a lot of jumpers this year because thats his role. KG posts, Pierce cuts and Ray is out on the perimeter. I understand that Ray is less efficient this year because he has been getting used to his role however you have to take Allen based on talent alone. Also IMHO I think Allen is a better at ball handling / driving.
