Having trouble figuring out what roles are needed on every team, got most of em down but what should a team's SF role be? Slasher?
PG: Distributor
SG: Shooter / Scorer
SF: ???
PF: Defensive Stopper / Hustle Guy
C: Post-Player / Shotblocker

In short, cause I've gotta go (good nick, BTW

) - in theory SF should be most versatile player on his team, doing a bit of everything.

yeah...versatility would be the right word...but its interesting which kind of players are playing SF: e.g. anthony mason as a pointforward, glen rice as a shooter, bowen as defensive stopper, and some others
but after all I think you can say similar things about other positions (even PG as scorer (marbury) or PF as shooter (dirk)
...but i like your list and you whold add "versatility" at SF

Every successful team needs a few of things.
1. A player that can create his own shot if and when the offense breaks down.
2. Some sort of post game, whether it be from a guard or center
3. Interior defense/rebounding
4. Good team defense or at least a defensive stopper at the wing possition.
5. Distributor. It doesn't have to be a Nash like guy, simply a guy that gets his teammates open shots. (even someone like Brandon Roy)

PG - Distributer / floor general
SG - Flat out scorer.
SF - Slasher/Versatile
PF - Dominant Post offense and defense
C- Shot blocker, and rebounder.

i like that list, what about outside threats to keep the defense honest?

Yes, I forgot that. Basically you need a team like Portland's next year with Oden.
